Re: Fairland football
I was impressed my the physical toughness of Fairland. They havent been a team in recent years that would pop you in the mouth. They gave a fair share of hits last friday, and i was happy to see that. They just weren't ready for the physicality that west can play with. I see bright things for this t...

Re: Fairlands Facillities
Being a Sider that lives just across the river in WV, I can tell you the following for Fairland football is nowhere near what it is on the west side. I have a good friend "Earp" who is a Fairland guy and I hear bout it all the time. There is a pile of bleachers laying on the track that cou...

Re: Week 1 - West at Fairland
Westsider1993: I'm going to guess Mike Hall is "MH." I was really impressed with Ratliff once he put that throw on the money down Fairlands sideline. The ball was dropped, but he couldn't have reached out and handed that ball over better. He does seem to be more comfortable passing this ye...

Re: hardest high school football hits ever seen?
Back in the 2000 season a guy named Brandon Colman for West hit a Northwest player on a punt return so hard that his ear pads came out with his helmet still on and strapped up. Thats the hardest hit ive seen. Zach Evans used to smash people pretty regularly back in '02 for the siders.

Re: Round 2 Bishop Ready vs. Portsmouth West AT LOGAN
Community get behind the coaching staff. Support them. Don't be negative... This would be the turn around of the century. That and the fans no getting loud when were on offense. Do we have some of the dumbest fans in sports? Didn't expect to be blogging about football but this remark has to be addr...

Re: Most exciting High School game you have ever watched?
That was a great game. Keeping with '02, the Regional final against Portsmouth was a great game. Also the '01 game against W'Burg was great. 7-0 Final score, hard hitting all game long.

Re: Round 2 Bishop Ready vs. Portsmouth West AT LOGAN
Since I wont be able to make it I need some help. I don't know who anyone is from their names, but if I went to school with or any of the West posters know me, send me a message so I can give you my number and get updates from you. I wont be around the computer to check it out here. I really want to...

Its times like this I wish I wouldn't have moved away. I would love to be down at the rock watching practice and seeing how things are shaping up for Saturday night. Lets GO WEST!

Getting ready to head down to meet the parents and see some old friends. Dad is already worried about seats. Anyone know what time the gates open? I assume around 5, but you know what they say about assuming! Any tail-gaiting activities going on tonight?

Re: S.O.C II PLAYER OF THE YEAR
I was only able to see about 6 games this year, but it seemed Dale had 150+ yards and a TD or two every game. Even if they lost last week he should be Player of the year. I would give lineman of the year to my old neighbor Seth Weber. Undersized for his position but gets the jobs done.

Re: Nasty compound fracture at Houston/Marshall...
the news said a rod was placed in his surgically repaired leg and mom plans to sue marshall Im sure hes 18+ so she can say what she wants. He said he doesn't hold Marshall responsible. My wife and I heard it snap about 8-10 rows into the student section. They only replayed it once in the stadium. M...

Re: HEY SIDERS WHICH OF THESE WAS THE BEST TEAM?
Thankfully one of my former high school coaches was a member of the 90 team and showed us tapes from his days. I think the 90 and 08 team are alot in common in the type of players they had. Both teams beat you on and off the score board. The 02 team was a burner. On a dry, fast field "I" t...
