Re: (7) Alexander vs (10) Waverly: Tuesday
I guess I just had higher expectations for the Spartans. I thought they would win 15-16 games this season. It was a very easy schedule. They won what 10 games and only two wins were against teams with winning records (NY and FH). They should continue to get better as they mature and grow as young me...

Re: (7) Alexander vs (10) Waverly: Tuesday
Those three sophomores started last year too. So all those underclass men all have experience. Alex also played the easiest schedule they have played in a long time. And all 4 games that they didn't make up would have been a loss.

Re: (7) Alexander vs (10) Waverly: Tuesday
Should Alex go in a different direction again next season since this direction didn't work?

Re: Alexander Spartans 2013-2014
I think with easiness of their schedule they should win 14-15 games

Re: Athens 83 Alexander 14
Athens is dominate in the TVC in all sports because they are the biggest school in the TVC. They will always dominate the league. Because they do have more kids but then if you think about the families that move in what school looks most appealing? Athens of course since its so dominate. I mean like...

Alexander Spartans 2013-2014
Thoughts on how they'll do with the new coach? And also thoughts on why there won't be a biddy league this year?

Re: Week 7: Alexander (1-5) @ Athens (6-0)
I had someone ask me if I thought Arno was on the hot seat? I know he has rubbed some people the wrong way at Alex. Something's are over looked when your team is winning. But Will he be gone if the Spartans finish 1-9 ? I doubt it 2012 4-6 2011 7-3 2010 8-3 2009 8-3 Davey Boston has a better chance...

Re: Alexander's New Coach
Is Kearns keeping the same coaching staff? As in Kimbrough as the JV coach and Chapman As freshman coach? Just wondering since the reason for letting coach Gabriel go was to go in new direction.

Re: Coaching Change at Alexander?
He was there more years than anyone else. But same time its not all about wins and losses. I have never heard a coach just show up 2 hours for practice and then to just coach games. You will need a coach that devotes his time all year around.

Re: Varsity Coaching openings for 2013-2014
If I am right, I think he coached at Alex last year. He was Gabriel's assistant. Yes it will be his if he wants it because he is a teacher. If he doesn't and another teacher wants it then its theirs also. Gotta ask the inside before going out to the outside. Kinda be interesting if he does take it ...

Re: Coaching Change at Alexander?
Well his son only helped him coach one year. And one of those team records that I was referring to was either last year or year before. And the fundraisers he raises goes back to the kids and some people who help out tremendously. Constantly giving back to the players, school, and community. We can ...

Re: Coaching Change at Alexander?
catsandbucks. Well he has had some team records in alexander history that you might not know of. Like fewest points given up (Avg). Most points. Win % in season. But just getting away from actually coaching on the court is a big reason. He done a lot more than most people know of. He generated about...

Re: Coaching Change at Alexander?
I agree with you Spartan. I don't think he should be let go for multiple reasons. But it also seems like everyone is already considering the outside to be a new coach. I wonder if there is anyone on the inside (teachers) that want the job.

Re: Coaching Change at Alexander?
Alex should be good for the next 6-7 years. they have some nice young talent. The rebuilding years are behind them for the new coach. The last 2 years have been rebuilding years with little talent. As long as the new coach can get the players to shoot better than 28% on the season(which I believe co...

Re: Coaching Change at Alexander?
I don't see Gabriel going anywhere else, but i could be wrong. He has been coaching at Alex for 25+ years, so that why I don't see him coaching anywhere else. NY would be the place to go if he does decide to go
