Re: Nelsonville@Alexander Senior Night for Alex Girls 2/7/11
I haven't been able to see many of the Spartan games this season because of my work schedule this year, but I made it a point to see our Senior night! As everyone has said, this has been a great group of hardworking and dedicated girls who each deserve all the accolades they can get. They have been ...

Re: Alexander vs. Oak Hill - Regional Semi-Final
For some reason, my original post after the game didn't post here. I guess that's what you get for being computer illiterate! I just wanted to reitterate that this was a great game with wonderful atmosphere and fantastic fan support for both sides. The Lady Spartans gave the Oaks all they could hand...

Re: Alexander vs. Oak Hill - Regional Semi-Final
Yes, Oak Hill is very good, as they were expected to be. The Lady Spartans are better than they were expected to be, and have gotten futher this year than anyone gave them credit for! Keep up the hard work and TEAMwork ladies and know no one is just going to roll over the Spartans.

Re: Alexander 50 North Adams 48 FINAL!!!
Congratulations, Lady Spartans, on another amazing victory! Great atmosphere, great players, and enthusiastic fans on both sides. Despite being outsized again, the small but mighty Spartans hung in with great defense and TEAMwork to snatch a victory from the Devils from North Adams. The Ladies have ...

Re: Problems with games at the Convo
Have to kind of agree with a few of those comments, It would definitely be nicer if they would pull out the bleachers. Having that much empty space around the court has sometimes seemed to throw off the players perception, and definitely makes the atmosphere a little off. I do like that OU is closer...

Re: More on TVC POY predictions
I haven't been able to follow them a whole lot this season, so I don't know their exact schedule, but I do know all their losses have been to nonconference teams. Coach Guthrie likes a tough nonconference schedule so his girls will know what expect when they hit the tournament trail..I know they rec...

More on TVC POY predictions
I just went back and read some of the chatter on the previous topic. It's now locked to any further posts, but I thought I'd run a different perspective past you. Instead of voting as soon as regular season is over, I think they should wait until all the teams get through tournaments before they vot...

Re: TRIMBLE Lady Cats vs. N. Adams Devils
Good Luck Lady Tomcats today against North Adams. I hear they're a good team, but the Cats can be aggressive and have decent size. It would be awesome if they could pull out a win and make it a TVC match-up at the Convo. Safe travels to both teams today, and an injury free game to all.

Re: Alexander Spartans vs. Portsmouth-West today in semis
WOW! Heard this one on the radio, what a barnburner! Great effort by the Lady Spartans to win in spite of ice cold shooting, 3 players fouled out, and a huge height disadvantage. This just goes to prove that old saying "It isn't the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of the fight in th...

Has this game been postponed too? Trimble is in Athens Co. too and we're a level II. Anyone know?

Re: #5 SV. Vs #4 Trimble. 2/24
Saw this game, was tragic. Trimble had come back from a 20 pt deficit and were only down 12 pts with 3min. 17sec. to go when the coach just gave up and pulled out his first string and put in his subs. They ended up getting trounced by 30 pts. If Coach Skinner of Athens had had the Trimble coaches me...

Alexander Spartans vs. Portsmouth-West today in semis
I have to work today and am not going to be there to cheer on our Lady Spartans. Don't know anything about Portsmouth-West, but would be happy with any info you can give me, and any possible updates during the game. Work hard and bring it home Lady Spartans, we want to watch you in the District Fin...

Re: TVC-Ohio POY???
Guess I'll add my 2 cents to this one. I'd have to go with any of the top 3 Alex scoring starters. Morgan Grinstead, Whitney Daugherty, Kayla Radekin, Any one of them can score double figures any given night, but also rebound over girls much taller, all are excellent defensive threats and are unself...

Sounds like some other people are getting a little overconfident here! Remember there are districts and regionals you've got to get through before you can "teach" anyone else a lesson.

Re: Africentric 114, South 14
The only time this would be acceptable would be if they only HAD 7 players on their roster. Otherwise, my opinion of this is the same as I posted re. the Waterford/Southern blowout. Shows a total lack of class on the part of the winning coach and program.

Re: Some Perspective On Blowouts
I think it shows a total lack of class to beat another team by 100 points. You certainly should always give your best effort, but I think that once you're up by max, 30 points, it's time to put in the subs and let them get playing time. It's also a time you can practice new plays, passing stategies,...
