Re: Gallipolis-Athens score?
Athens went up by 2 in the bottom of the first on a two run homerun. Game remained that score until the 5th inning when Gallia scored 1 in the top half. Athens responded with 1 of their own in the bottom of the 5th. Gallia then scored 2 runs in the top of the 6th to tie the game up. The bottom of th...

Re: Rules help please!
Farr...base umpire also signaled safe as soon as ball was dropped. Soccerfix...I agree that there is no clear cut way to call that, the problem is that as an official either stick with your call or allow the other officials on your crew help you determine the correct call. Just don't change the call...

Thankfully GAHS had a game tonight vs. Eastern Meigs and a game tomorrow vs. Huntington Ross, therefore he should be back for the tourny games.

Re: Gallipolis 7 Meigs Eastern 6
Only thing I know is that Terry Smith pitched for Gallia for 5 Innings and Chuck Calvert came in for the final two. I believe Smith was the winning pitcher. Nice win following heart break at Warren.

Re: Rules help please!
I don't think the real issue is that the call was missed...It's that they changed the call multiple times.

Re: Rules help please!
Thanks everyone. I agree that the umps should have just stuck with original call since batter was out @ second anyway. It just made everyone there mad when they attempted to change the call a few times.

Rules help please!
In tonights Warren vs. Gallia Academy game there was a call made that no one seemed to know the ruling. Just wondering if some of you Baseball Umpires could help me understand the ruling. Here's the situation: No out, runner on first base. Ball is hit to left field and fielder seems to catch the bal...

You can't be serious?? I've been to many games in different sports and the LOCAL chapter in Ironton normally takes care of the Tigers.

Re: Gallipolis (6-6) at Logan (4-8) 1/29/10
Gallia can win this game. This is as long as the players that are playing good are allowed to stay in the game. Too often we have seen players on "fire" taken out of the game so the players that are "supposed to play" can play.
