Re: Wellston Job
If I recall correctly, someone mentioned earlier that there may be a coach or coaches from the past possibly coming back to assist. If it's not Blankenship, Blackstone, Boggs, or Lucas, the only one left that I can think of is Fyffe. Is he the one? Help me out Wellston fans. Am I missing any possibl...

Re: Wellston Job
Dave Lucas, Romeo Crennel, Paul Boggs, Ron Jeremy, Heath Hinton? Those would all be good choices.

Re: Wellston Football 2010
Sounds like a bunch of different offensive schemes to me. Better pick 1 or 2 and run them well. I'm not sure what all kind of players they have returning, so I won't suggest what would be best for them.

Re: Wellston Job
If some one has something bad to say about hutch why not walk up and tell him he sucks? Quit typing it. the man just got his dream job working where he played and the place he loves let it be.. That would shut this forum down. If everyone went to the people's faces who they are talking about, no on...

Re: Wellston Job
Boilermaker. . . Wellston had a run of talent in the early 2000's and won 2 conference titles. Since then, they have not had that type of talent (at least not in years that I have seen games) and they have not won anymore titles. I'm not saying that they will never win another title, but I don't see...

Re: Wellston Job
It sounds like there are some mixed opinions of the new coach and how the upcoming season will go. One thing is for sure . . . The schedule is tough, but is has been the last several years. Only time will tell. What are some names of the "old faces" being kicked around to join the staff. I...

Re: Passing the Ball
Like Brian Kelly has shown, throw the ball a lot and you will be pretty good. Peyton Manning does a pretty good job of it too. I have always been a fan of smash mouth football, but the more football I watch, the more I see how successful you can be throwing the ball. I think if you throw the ball a ...

This kid must be a player. I haven't had the chance to see him play in person, but I saw some video highlights of him online and he looked like the real deal. Very instinctive and hard nosed. Congrats to him and good luck on the rest of his career!

Re: Wellston Job
So, Hutchinson is the guy? Wasn't he on the staff last year? Anyone know if he has a staff put together or if anyone else from last year's staff will be joining him? It seems strange to me that a guy from the staff that didn't seem to be liked very well or supported by some of the fans will be broug...

Re: Wellston Job
If they hired someone last night, I'm not sure what the big secret is. Who is it? All the Rocket posters were sooo excited when they were going to hire Phillips and now a couple of them are really excited about whoever it is that they are hiring now. Where was the excitement for the guy they are hir...

Re: Wellston Job
Boilermaker. . . I don't even know the pee-wee coach. I just found it amusing that people were recomending that they hire a pee-wee coach. So, did your friend apply? I heard that he used to apply every time the job came open and never got a sniff. There must be an issue there. On a more serious note...

WOW! What a debacle. Who are they scrambling to get now? Maybe they can hire that fabulous pee-wee coach that people are so impressed with.

Re: Oak Hill Football
I would say the Slone boy's dad would take it. But, he may only do it for a year because his son will be playing on Saturdays the following year. I'm sure they would get some decent applicants. What do they have coming after this year?

Do you not have to block if you run the triple option? Are the Rockets not going to have much up front next year?

Re: Wellston Job
They better sell a he!! of a lot of spaghetti if they expect to do renovations with that money. When and where is this taking place? Are they getting the spaghetti from the Lazy Italian? My family loves spaghetti. We'll have to be sure to go.

Re: Wellston Job
Did they do a second round of interviews or did they just narrow the field for, apparently, no reason? Goldenboy. . . what renovations are coming this year. I think they need to put in a new home side. The visiting fans have a nicer place to sit than the home fans who buy season tickets. They also n...

Re: Wellston Job
I think you are correct Ty Webb. Everyone knows what's coming so why even narrow the field? It seems as though they are wasting some of these guys' time. Just name Phillips the coach and move on. They are also hurting the kids. Every day that goes by is a day that a lot of kids aren't working out an...

Re: Wellston Job
Great post Boilermaker. I think you hit the nail on the head with one statement. . . The kids have to work harder and the parents and community has to get behind the Coach during the bad times as well as the good times. The three school that you mentioned are perfect examples among others. They fill...

Does anyone know the names of the finalists or if they have even narrowed the field? I'm sure they have with the interviewing being finished on Monday. Also, are they going to re-interview the finalists or just narrow it and pick one?

Re: Athens in the SEOAL v Athens in the TVC
I agree with what some of you are saying about a 9-1 season being a great season. It is no doubt a great record. They are D II. Why shouldn't they beat everyone in the TVC? They lost to Nelsonville who is 3 divisions smaller. I don't think that they played one team that was equal size to them all se...
