Re: Rio Grande vs Watkins/Cambridge

Ironman, in my humble opinion, the Pick. North course is MUCH less difficult than is Rio's. I looked over the "elevation" chart on their website and chuckled - check it out. I think we need to put up an elevation chart for Rio, Zane Trace, and Meigs and then compare and contrast.

Re: Cross country - in general

Ny Buckeyes, the course at Nelsonville-York has some "rolling plains" - there are some hills there, just not big hills. The course will be different next year as we have a few plans. As far as why NY has not had much in the way of cross country - I do not know. All I do know is that I am h...

Re: Future TVC Divisions

I look at this proposal and wonder why Belpre and Nelsonville-York - both D-III schools in the "normal" breakdown - are in the big school division. Would it not be more equal to have them compete with the other D-III schools and bring in Gallia and Warren to add to the big school list? The...

Cross country - in general

Hopefully this will start some dialogue. For years i have complained about cross country becoming nothing more than track on grass and my opinion has not changed. Piketon and Southeastern have fast courses but are flat - unbelievably flat. I can remember the difference between cross country athletes...

Re: Who was the best track athlete in the seoal by event gro

While at Logan, the best, the very best athlete we ever had, yet shied away from success, was John Cosgrove. He was about 5'8" tall and high jumped 6"8"; long jumped 23' plus; ran the 100 in 10.7; high hurdles in 13.9; the 300's - one time - in sub 40; do not remember his 200 time. I ...

Re: How To Rebuild A High School Football Program

Building a program should not be any different than having a competitive program year in and year out. There are some key components to having a solid program - attitude, discipline, fundamentals, the ability to teach and not demand, and, above all, have fun. Attitude involves being a good citizen i...

Re: Holly Mays Logan---1991/94

This young lady was one heck of a track and field athlete! She could have done any event she wanted. She was a joy to coach in the hurdles and I think she went on to Liberty University to earn a degree and compete in track and field.

Re: GALLIA ACADEMY COAHES CORNER INVITE

Nelsonville-York will be there. Should I bring a chair to sit under the scorer's tent? Or at least right behind it?
