Re: Week 5: Nelsonville-York @ Logan

I am pulling for for Logan. My Alder team needs help this year so any points they can get from opponents are needed. Logan looked like a team that is close...they did great in the beginning of the alder game but could not convert drives into points. Alder broke their back and they gave up later in t...

Re: Week 4: Logan @ Jonathan Alder

I dont see Alder losing to Logan at home. Alder has a brutal schedule this year and Logan is the lowest ranked team (state rankings on max preps) they will face.

Re: Week 4: Logan @ Jonathan Alder

This is not your typical Alder team. They have a young line and new quarterback. My guess is that they go 6-3 this year and miss the playoffs for the fist time in 12 years. That being said they will be back in form next year. Alder is DIII. Their fist two games were against D1 schools. Clinton Massi...

Re: Jackson @ West Jefferson week 3 2013 season

its all good... i will be the first to admit i dont know much about ironman football. I liked what i saw this year and wish them continued success. I would rather see a jackson / alder game as a regular matchup.

Re: Jackson @ West Jefferson week 3 2013 season

WJ is just a couple of cornfields over from Jonathan Alder. They have a great program. If they played this year i would bet the farm on Jackson. However, a lot can change in 2 years. Never count them Rough Riders out because they are a hard working bunch, they play physical, and they wont quit. They...

Re: Alder Springfield Shawnee Regional final

Ironman02- kind of makes me happy that an impartial observer sees those 2 calls the same way i did. Another big thing that would have stopped shawnee's drive was the fumble that they didnt give us and ruled a first down for springfield. Channel 4 local news showed that and said it was a fumble that ...

Re: D-3: Dover vs. Youngstown Cardinal Mooney

when we played mooney for the state championship in 2006 alder looked like a junior high team going up against a college team. Every lineman looked like they were cast in the same mold. Hard to believe that they have 3 losses...have to be against some tough D1/D2 cleveland teams.

Re: Alder Springfield Shawnee Regional final

couldnt stop the run off takle just like at the jackson game. Very poor play calling on some key plays kept us from putting points on board but its easy to second guess when you are in the stands. We had one pass interference no call on a big drive that kept us from converting. We also had shawnee h...

Kicker - we have tried to get into leagues before and had that problem. Trust me that the fans really dont want anything to do with the smaller schools because we want the quality win points. I havent seen a complete list so marion Pleasant is a welcome surprise for me. Shouldnt be an issue for most...

alder will also be in the MOAC and it will indclude North Union, Fairbanks, and couple of other schools. Not real excited about it from my point of view as we have had some great schedules being freelance.

Re: Year of the Ugly SEOAL

noreply - I don't think luck had anything to do with us getting where we are now. We beat Logan 42-0 so I think your just a little jaded. Alder threw like 5 passes and 2 were for TDs on Jackson. Alder didn't open the play book during the Jackson game because they didn't have to. I really dont think ...

Re: Year of the Ugly SEOAL

again schedules are made by adminstrators not coaches. All the team can do is win whats on their schedule. I dont buy that one region is any different than another. School size doesn't have as much correlation on talent as most people think. I have seen some really tough D5 and D6 schools and there ...

Re: D3 R12 Semifinal Jackson 7 vs. Jonathan Alder 28 Final S

Alder rushed for 179 and Jackson rushed for 206. Potts had 118 yrds and Ervin had 136. So really not fair to say one team dominated the other in terms of running. Jackson moved the ball really well. A handful of plays and the game could have easily swung the other way. A few mistakes by a couple of ...

Re: How about Southern Ohio football!

I dont buy this we are the poorest region crap. Every stinking school in the SE seems like they have new stadiums and turf. I took a van load of kids to the Alder/Jackson game at Logan and the first thing the kids noticed was the school and said is Logan a D1 school? Then they noticed Jackson's char...

Congrats to the Johnies i reallly mis-underestimated them. Tigers need to execute. I dont think it is the offense but the basics. It takes 11 guys doing there job every play. Lots of missed opportunities. Go back and reload.

Re: D3 R12 Semifinal Jackson 7 vs. Jonathan Alder 28 Final S

yes but by the same token... alder came up with the interception at Logan Elm. Pressure from Alder helped cause those uncharacteristic mistakes like high snaps or muffing a fair catch. I am not saying it is the only reason but i am sure that it is a factor and until you strap on a helmet and pads in...
