Re: Portsmouth Clay
Let me restate..they're looking for the best school to give her the best chances to succeed in both soccer and basketball and Clay may not be that. This is just some discussions that have come up.

Re: Portsmouth Clay
There's the possibility that she could leave to find a better team and coach not just for basketball, but for soccer as well. She plays club soccer and a lot of her teammates are from the Chillicothe area. I know that their family is not happy with the soccer situation at Clay and wasn't too excited...

Portsmouth Clay
Congrats Lady Panthers on a hard faught season! These girls overcame several issues this season and still were able to play very well!
Looking forward to next season, but not sure how they will fare without possibly having Curley at the helm..
Congrats again on a great season!!

Re: SOC 1 2011
Do you think NDs defense had anything to do with clay struggling.? Seen ND play twice now and they play pretty hard. It was a very ugly game. Clay had a lot of unforced turnovers by just throwing the ball around and ND did an excellent job capitalizing on those turnovers. Clay was playing zone the ...

Re: Monday night scores (Dec. 5th)
Eastern - 60 Clay - 44 Eastern player very well! Day was near perfect from the line which helped them tremendously. Coach Castle had nothing to show for their 2-3 defense. Clay did not set one pick the entire game other than in an out-of-bounds plays. Curley led the way for Clay with 18 pts and four...

At the Half:
Eastern - 31
Clay - 22
Clay was up 17-9 after the 1st and Curley with 9 pts in the 1st then Eastern's coach switched to 2-3 high zone and Clay's coach doesn't have an answer for it.

Re: SOC 1 2011
arch log on and post more often . not being over sensitive , any reports that doesnt give a mention to ND is just not being straight up. I'll be honest and say that I completely forgot about ND. I often forget about them and I apologize. I know last year they struggled, but did pull off some big wi...

Re: SOC 1-2 previews tonight
Clay's JV played East.
Webster scored more than 23...they were in the 30's after the first quarter when I left.
Oak Hill sounds like they're breeding nothing but basketball players in that area. Good luck to them this year as I'm sure they're pushing toward State again.

Re: SOC 1 2011
How is the Curley girl from Clay recovering?I know she had knee surgery earlier on. From watching the scrimmage Saturday, she is Not recovered all way. No where near as good as she was last year. Hopefully she can step it up. I know personally that Curley has recovered about 95%, but not so much me...

Re: SOC 1-2 previews tonight
Not sure on scores... Wheelersburg over Clay by 10+......It is noticeable that Clay is missing a post presence in Hempill. Burg moved the ball well and had a very quick transition. Curley and Spriggs are going to need to be stronger on the ball and driving in the lane to get to the line as much as p...

Re: SOC Girls Teams
I agree run-n-gun..and I mentioned on here after they lost at Western that it would probably cost them the SOC I Title. IMO Clay has an advantage on most SOC teams because of their depth. Surprisingly, Clay was one of the only teams with a full JV team so that could prove to be an advantage late in ...

Re: SOC Girls Teams
Not to take anything away from Western because a win is a win, but there were definitely some coaching issues for Clay in that game IMO. Once everything between coach and players came together we all saw how well Clay could play. Curley, Spriggs, Redding, Whitley, Jenkins, Pelfrey are going to be th...

Re: SOC Girls Teams
Spriggs was a junior guard coming off the bench last season so she'll be a senior, but tore her ACL at a game in New Boston about mid-season. Curley was playing club soccer in Dayton earlier this spring and tore her ACL as well. So hopefully these girls will be at 100% for the season because they wi...

Re: SOC Girls Teams
SOC 1...it's Clay's to lose. Lost some senior starters and most importantly Hempill, BUT they still have depth, height, and their younger players gained a lot of experience in the tournament. As long as Curley is back to 100% come the beginning of the season along with Spriggs they will be tough to ...

Re: 2011 SOC Scheduling change
I agree. There are so many schools around the Southeast District with small class sizes compared to most schools around bigger cities and it will be hard to consistently produce competitive teams year after year.

Re: 2011 SOC Scheduling change
i think playing the opposing league is good for the league. it seems to me that waverly should petition to get out of the soc altogether. however, how are the other teams doing in the soc. every school has cycles and waverly is doing well with soccer currently. very short sided thinking imo. I agre...

Re: #1 Portsmouth Clay vs #2 Reedsville Eastern 3/3
However (USokkr), I don't think we should criticize high school players unless they have committed some terribly heinous act. They are not adults, many of them are very sensitive, and many of them read these posts. The Clay senior girls gave it everything they had for four years and I think they de...
