Re: Ryan Adams Steps Down As Athens Head Coach
If it is Nathan White, which is also what I have heard, he is a great choice to be head coach. He has been there for quite a while now and was there as a player. The bulldog program will miss Coach Adams and Coach Goodwin. They have both been with the program in some capacity for a long time. I don'...

Re: WEEK8 ATHENS @ WELLSTON
I think the dogs win in a close one, at least closer than some people think. Don't think it will be a blowout or a running clock. The Rockets are much improved and they are at home. Goingto be a beautiful night for high school football either way.

Re: Athens three year run
I really hope the community continues to support the program even though this group of seniors is graduating. There are stills some really good football players on the roster not to mention a bunch of younger kids that got second half playing time throughout the majority of the season. As long as th...

Re: STATE SEMI'S: Athens (13-0) vs ASVSM (11-2)
Not sure about this one but think this might be where Athens gets stopped. I may be wrong but I just think Akron St. V plays on a whole other level. With that being said I hope that Athens can do it and will be rooting for them. I know the community will be in full support no matter what happens.

Re: #4 Athens (11-0) vs #1 Tri Valley (11-0) - week 12
No score prediction in this one just know it is going to be a great game, cold but great! I am interested in watching the Tri-Valley D vs the Athens O. I don't think Athens has seen a D quite like this. Steubenville had some good defensive players especially the Lb's and DB's. I think Tri-Valley fro...

Re: Athens (10-0) vs Granville (8-2) - Week 11
Athens has to get by Granville first. I believe they will but it might be tougher than some people think. I am hoping Athens did not peak against Steubenville. If Athens and Tri-Valley meet again next week I think it will be an epic battle. I have seen most Athens games and only clips of Tri-Valley....

Re: Wk10 Athens (9-0 5-0) @ Nelsonville-York (7-2 5-0)
I read an article in the A News trying to configure the population of Athens City without the OU students. It is about 6500-7000 permanent city residents. I am assuming that is in the city limits excluding The Plains, Chauncey and Millfield. Back to football though, I will take Athens in this one, w...

Nice comeback. I wonder how many Vinton County parents work at Ohio University?

Re: Wk10 Athens (9-0 5-0) @ Nelsonville-York (7-2 5-0)
Not all Athens kids come from "the city". Athens city school district involves students of many different backgrounds. Not all the students have moms and dads that work at OU and drive fancy cars and live in big houses in "the city". Even some of the kids that live in "the c...

Re: Athens (12-0) vs Marion Franklin (11-1) - Logan
This is a tough one. I expect another high scoring game. I have only seen highlights of Marion Franklin and they look like they have real good athletes with speed and a QB that is not the best throwing QB but when the throw is on the money watch out! Also big up front as most people have already hea...

Re: Week 12 Region 9: #1 Athens vs. #4 Tri-Valley
I agree with you groundbuck Athens does have to worry about their special teams play as well. As I stated in my earlier post I had said the Athens defense faced some adversity and handled it some of the time and that they will have to do better. All I was saying is that it is tough for a young D to ...

Re: Week 12 Region 9: #1 Athens vs. #4 Tri-Valley
I have seen both Athens and Tri-Valley play this year. Athens will have their hands full with Tri-Valley on both sides of the ball. Athens will score points but unfortunately for Athens so will Tri-Valley. They have a very balanced attack and can run the ball very well. I watched the Athens Logan El...

Re: Athens (3-0) vs Jackson (2-1)
I don't see how Athens has been confused on defense. I think they have played pretty well and have been able to line up against a couple different kinds of offenses. I have seen Jackson play and nothing they do should confuse a defense. Pretty typical Jackson stuff. I think if any week to be less co...

Re: Week 4: Alexander (1-2) @ Waverly (1-2)
I will take Waverly in this one. I don't think Alex is physical enough to match with Waverly. Also being at Waverly gives them a little extra boost. I think it should be a pretty good game though.

Re: Athens (3-0) vs Jackson (2-1)
I think this will be a really good game. One thing Athens has going for them is that they are playing at home although they have also been able to win big games on the road in the past couple of years. I don't know how much weather will play into the game but don't forget Athens has a pretty good ru...

Re: D III R12 Qtrs: #7 Jackson (10-0) at #2 Athens (10-0)
Bluebomber. I agree with you that you need to get your best offensive weapon the ball as much as possible and Sharp is for sure the best offensive weapon for Athens. However not having either Senior tight ends available due to sickness makes it difficult to utilize the running game as they had all s...

Re: D III R12 Qtrs: #7 Jackson (10-0) at #2 Athens (10-0)
Bulldog 93, qualified, bluebomber. You guys should be coaches, you seem to have it all figured out. Athens would have won if you guys were calling the plays and running the team. They could have given the ball to sharp 40 times and it wouldn't have made a difference. Wait, they didnt even run 40 pla...

Re: Head Coach Ryan Adams & Players prepare for Jackson
True! That McNelly can fly! And catch the football. I think the bulldogs have 21 or 22 ints on the season. They don't get beat deep very often and they do have some db's with speed. But it will be a big test for them, McNelly is probably the fastest WR they have seen all year.

There is always somebody on every team that gets overlooked. I agree Landrum is also a weapon that Jackson has in their potent offense.

Re: D III R12 Qtrs: #7 Jackson (10-0) at #2 Athens (10-0)
Athens has more than just #5. He is a great athlete and makes big plays but he wouldnt be able to without hte help of his QB, Receivers, Fullbacks and O-line. Chris Russell as small as he is is a devistating blocker and can run the ball as well as catch a pass or two out of the backfield. Mitch Ride...
