Re: WK 4: Waterford 6 @ Fort Frye 35 Final
Waterford is going to lose the next two games before they get another chance to win. The offense is only “unstoppable” against the bad teams. They will be 5-5 at best this season so there will be at least three more times that it will be stopped in. Looks like they’re on a downward trend. Coaches wh...

Re: WK 4 Federal Hocking (1-2) @ Belpre (0-3)
Fed saw problems with one side of Belpre's kick off team, and repeatedly returned the kickoffs to the same side of the field every time, and ended up with great field position. Last night was week four, this deficiency should have been addressed by now. To be fair to the Belpre coaches, they had an...

Re: WK 4 Federal Hocking (1-2) @ Belpre (0-3)
I was at the game, second Belpre game I've taken in this year. Congrats to Fed Hock on a big win, you got it done when you had to. Fed has some kids that will hit you, and are fearless. That helped them immensely in this game. I feel bad for the kids from Belpre, they are paying the price for the t...

Re: Sign Stealing
I remember back when Ralph Holder would send people over to steal signs from Jack ORoarke. That was part of why Belpre was so good back then. Holder always knew what he was about to see. The worst time in Belpre football history was when VC figured out what Belpre was doing. Once they did they made...

Re: Gallia academy vs Point Pleasant
I'm not sure the Blue Devils will win a game this year. Peake, Rock Hill, and Coal Grove are the only games that look winnable. If they play like they did against Athens, Owen is very much within reach. Owen? Who's Owen? Owen Ten, that's who. But I bet all the important little Johnie’s are getting ...

Re: WK3 Meigs @ Coal Grove
Tennant was almost as bad a coach at Eastern as Welch was. Actually it was probably a tie between the two. I doubt that anyone is seeking any advice from either of those two guys. JMO

Re: WK3 South Gallia @ Eastern
Running clock in second half Word in street is Wahama is already trying to find a way to get out of playing Eastern We could play Meigs that week but they are probably chicken and wouldn’t be worth many points anyway Tried to get Eastern on the schedule a few years back but JJ was too scared to sch...

Re: WK 2: Belpre (0-1) @ Fort Frye (0-1)
That's how it felt last week during the MC/Belpre game. First quarter took 45 minutes. The MC JV was in at about the 6:50 mark of the second quarter, and they gave up a touchdown. JV played the second half in its entirety and scored almost immediately at the start of the third with a pick six. I kn...

Re: Wk 2: Trimble (0-1) @ Berne Union (0-1)
I sure am glad Trimble finally got a win. It brought their fans back out for one thing. Plus it was a non conference game so it means playoff points for the Eagles. Here’s to Trimble winning the rest of their no. Conference games. Too bad they let one slip away again Nelsonville. But hopefully Water...

Re: Week 1- Eastern (Meigs) @ River Valley
This has never been a regular series and the last time RV won was in 2017. We’ve played them only eight times this century. The last two years Eastern has won handily and RV has a total of three wins in those two seasons. When they go 0-10 there ain’t many playoff points to be had. We had a two year...

With Hosey helping at Eastern could they be the dark horse in the Hocking this season? The talent is there for sure. Thoughts?

Re: Flopping Addressed in 2024-25 NFHS High School Basketball Rules Changes
I never click on the links, and I didn’t on this one either, but I do wonder, if this is true, is it why Howdee retired. He sure could get them players to flop.

Re: Trimble Hires Howie Caldwell as next basketball coach
Word on the streets has Coach Moore more than likely getting his job back! Maybe he can get it back now if it’s true about Howdee going back to FH. Now that’s a place I can see Howdee going to. A plethora of talent they have but is the job even open? Well I guess it doesn’t matter to Howdee if it’s...

Probably depends on how much of the talent Meigs had graduated. Howie ain’t going nowhere that he has to rebuild.Cypress wrote: ↑Fri May 03, 2024 8:56 amMaybe Eastern Meigs but not MeigsMarauderMadness wrote: ↑Fri May 03, 2024 8:28 am Trust me on this. Howie is coaching at Meigs next season.

Will he chase the talent again and go to Meigs? Or will he take the Eastern gig and rejoin his grandson?Fan of The Blue and Gold wrote: ↑Fri Feb 13, 2015 9:56 pm Unfortunately he lost a lot of fans when he chased the talent!
