Warren 57 Fort Frye 43
Looking forward to a great matchup, I tuned in to the live feed of the game. What I saw from Warren in the first half was outstanding. Their team defense absolutely smothered the Cadets. Offensively, the Warriors had the interior advantage and their team passing was fantastic. The Warriors seemed to...

Warren 54 New Philadelphia 48
Due to a nice facebook stream by New Philadelphia, got to watch a good game. New Philadelphia has good length across the board and play a tough, physical brand of defense. The game was physical from the start and consistently called throughout. The game was close early and the Warriors made a nice s...

Re: Warren 68 Parkersburg South 63
Yes, Parkersburg South falls to 6-13 and have lost 8 games by 5 points or less. They are for sure much better than record indicates. Could be a dangerous team in West Virginia postseason play.

Warren 68 Parkersburg South 63
Warren with a hard fought victory against AAA Parkersburg South. First quarter was fast paced with Warriors hitting 4 three point goals and leading 24-19 after one. South dominated the second quarter outscoring the Warriors 15-4. Early third quarter would be huge because South had all of the momentu...

Warren 48 Whitehall 47
Warren Warriors get a good victory against Whitehall at Marietta College. Game was a low scoring affair through 3 quarters. Warren played zone to try and counter Whitehall's quickness and force them to make outside shots. Strategy worked for a long time and Warren led 31-24 at end of 3. In the fourt...

Re: Top 5 All-Time from your school
Only 2 from Warren have over 1,000? That's crazy Like Warrior Blue said, very rare for any freshman at Warren to play varsity at all because of talent level at school and the competition that Warren faces in Division II every year. Of note is that there are a few players for sure that were very nea...

Re: AP Southeast All-District Honors
Yes. There were lots of good teams and players for sure, which is why it was tough. Just saying that the numbers that Jones and Dennis put up are usually first team type numbers. Not saying anyone that was on the first team didn't deserve it or aren't good players--they are all good players.

Re: AP Southeast All-District Honors
It really looks to me like the AP tried to balance representation on the all-district 1st team to coincide with teams success. (may not have, but it appears that way) There were no first teamers from the same school team. It just happens to be a year where the district was so strong across the board...

Re: 2/14, games and scores
That Warren game was such a beat down, I wanted them to reimburse me my cost of admission. Blue looking good down the stretch. What was the score from this game? Score was 76-49. Warren led 26-10 after one quarter. Minford played a good stretch in the second quarter and early third quarter to get b...

Re: Fort Frye 51 @ Waterford 61 Final
Waterford did exactly what they needed to do in this contest------Make sure Anderson wasn't going to single handedly beat them. They tried denying him the ball all evening and tried to never leave him in a one on one situation. Fort Frye was able to hang around and stay within the 8 to 10 point defi...

Re: Warren at Waterford, Sat., 2/11
Recap from Warren/Waterford game Saturday evening played at Waterford. Waterford led 12-11 after one quarter. Warren used trapping zone in second period to hold Wildcats to 4 points and lead 25-16 at the break. Warriors extended lead to 15 at one point, about midway through third quarter. Waterford ...

Re: Parkersburg at Warren
Of note is that the Parkersburg Big Reds defeated West Virginia AAA #1 ranked Capital last evening, 67-65. This was a payback win for the Big Reds who had lost to Capital by 14 on the road earlier in the season. Parkersburg, who was ranked #9 in AAA this week, now has victories against Capital (#1 r...

I am sure there is lots of interest in Wheil. He has been a dominating force on both ends of the court all season. I know he has interest in playing college baseball.

Re: Parkersburg at Warren
Just adding some input about game in addition to others above: The game was played at the tempo that Warren liked in the first half. I really figured Parkersburg would come out and force a faster paced game by pressing or full court man. However, the first half pace was pretty slow which I think pla...

Warren 57 Spring Valley 41
Warren defeated Spring Valley Saturday night at Rio Grande. Game was tight early and Warren had only 5 point lead midway through third quarter before pulling away. Warriors were led by Kyler Dennis who had a huge game of 30 points. Josh Huffman posted a nice double-double of 17 points and 11 rebound...

Re: Parkersburg @ Athens 1/10
Funny to see some comments above about Parkersburg not being that good. That team is very good. They have everything a team would want-speed, athleticism, ballhandling, shooting, size, and depth. They are one of the most talented teams around and would matchup with Vinton County, Warren, Fairland, F...

Warren 78 Marietta 61
In the rematch of an 85-82 Warrior victory earlier in the season, the Warriors won round two at home. The game was close early, but a 15-2 Warren second quarter advantage gave the Warriors command. The lead stayed at 10 or more the rest of the game. The Warriors used a balanced attack with Chase Wei...

Re: Fort Frye (7-2) @ Warren (8-2) 1/5
Anderson is just a special player. He can rise up and shoot over most defenders, regardless of size. He had 5 triples, with a couple coming by rising up over defenders right up on him. Chase Weihl and Josh Huffman continue to be a strong duo for Warren. Weihl had 17 pts and 8 rebs and Huffman 10 pts...
