Re: Clay vs Grove City Christian
Clay should play much relaxed in this game as now they are playing with house money. Clay had not won a district championship since 1969. While SW played good physical defense they couldn't defend free throws and Clay missed more free throws than usual and didn't make a 3 point shot all game which m...

3 1,000 pt scorers in same class - ever happened before?
With Nate Hinze scoring his 1,000 pt tonight joining Cole Gilliland and Cameron King, gives Portsmouth Clay 3 1,000 scorers in the same class. Has anyone else ever heard of a school boys or girls having 3 1,000 scorers in the same class? Or 3 to hit the mark in the same season? Impressive feat for t...

Hinze for Portsmouth Clay scores 1,000 pt
Congrats to Nate Hinze joining the 1,000 pt club, especially special since he missed several games at the beginning with a broken arm.

Re: [=== SOC1 (2016-17) ===] -- Schedule/Results/Standings
So a 3 way tie for top of the leader board between Eastern, Clay and ND after tonight's games and Clay plays at ND this Wednesday? Can't be too many other games on that night. Apparently schedulers knew at beginning of season to NFL style flex this game to Wednesday so more could see it.

Re: Portsmouth Clay Gilliland 1000 pt club
Congrats to him! Got to watch him a couple times this year. Very unselfish player, didn't force shots and was willing to do the dirty work of rebounding and defending the rim. Glad to see players like that reach a milestone like this. Good luck rest of the year and in tourney.

Wasn't at the game. Did Hinze make that much a difference?

Re: Pfloyd's Elite 8 of Southern/SouthEast Ohio Week #2
Going back to Eastern Pike and Clay, Eastern defense was the difference. To hold Clay to 14 first half points was impressive. As mentioned Clay's Gilliland only had 2 pts at half and I was surprised they didn't run more sets to try to get him open looks from the outside as he was 2-3 from 3's on the...

To help you with Clay's roster as I saw them Friday at Paint Valley (Swingle kid is BIG 6'11" 300+lbs I was told and played big 30 pts and 17 rebs) but Clay behind play from Gilliland (17 pts, 13 rebs) King (18 pts with his ff's icing it in the end) and Riffe (14 pts) as they were the better ov...

Re: Top Players around
Kendal Reynolds 6'3" from Portsmouth really good outside shooter and also from SOC 1 in addition to names already mentioned - Cole Gilliland 6'4" from Clay that can play both inside and out, Tanner Perdue 6'1" from Western that just knows how to score and get his shot off, Blaine Scot...

Left out a key word 'Adena' in previous post. Clay beat Adena by 30.

Portsmouth Clay scrimmaged Lynchburg Clay and Adena yesterday. I didn't see the P Clay vs L Clay but was told P Clay won by 20 pts. This was surprising especially when I was told P Clay is down 2 starters to broken bones. Their center Williams has a broken jaw but should be back within next couple w...

Re: Pfloyd's Elite 8 of Southern/SouthEast Ohio - PreSeason
Being the most familiar with SOC 1, one of those schools like Western, as mentioned East or Eastern or even Clay or ND as almost everyone of them bring back there starting 5 and will get better and could crack the top 8 at some point. Probably only Western or East with their deeper tourney runs coul...

Re: Peebles vs Clay Sectional Championship
Clay won by taking away Peebles cuts to the basket and anything in the paint away. Gilliland owned the paint rebounding and shots blocked or altered. Riffe and Hinze were hitting shots for Clay in the first half and King and Gilliland provided the offense in the 2nd half. I was very impressed with P...

Re: Eastern pike at Clay
Eastern out hustled and out muscled Clay. It was a very physical, hands on game as Barrick wanted. As stated Martin and Leist play was the difference. I was impressed with both of their ability to score from inside or from 3. Leist can create his own shot with his hang time which few can do. Only Gi...
