Re: Monroe Central 24-25

I'll be at this one, only about a 30 minute drive for me! My son played in the North/South game there a decade or so ago, nice old gym. A quick google search says it seats 3100 people so a few hundred more than Ohio Dominican so yes, it will be full. I'll just have to get there early I suppose.

Re: Monroe Central 24-25

The coach certainly deserves credit, they are very talented but he steers that ship. I know it was controversial as the previous coach was successful and by all accounts I've heard a great teacher and role model and reports were that parents pushed him out but had that not happened many of these pla...

Re: Monroe Central 24-25

I expect MC to win the NA game by double figures and the regional final by 20+. I'm interested to see how they match up the final four teams. I think if they get a matchup with the NE regional champion they will be able to get to Dayton. I don't know that they can beat the two regional champs from t...

Re: Didn't Monroe Central play @ Ohio Dominican earlier?

excellent scheduling move. I went to that game, MC blew a 13 point 4th qtr lead, lost on a 3 at the buzzer by 2. That fairbanks team was no joke, they beat harvest prep by 20 in the district semi finals

Re: Monroe Central 24-25

I think MC wins this region relatively easily. CL hasn’t played a great overall schedule, NA lost their stud and coach from last year, testament to their program to be back in this position. I know you aren’t supposed to compare scores but Beaver Eastern struggled to survive Reedsville Eastern in th...

Re: Monroe Central 24-25

I watched the replay of Hiland/Caldwell… and that pressure D of the Hawks is for real. I hope we have something to beat it. I’m not sure we’ll get one 3-pointer off. Good luck tomorrow night Noles. Last one out of Woodsfield turn out the lights The Schott kid from Caldwell had around 20 against Hil...

Re: Monroe Central 24-25

I made the drive from Pickerington up to New Philly (somewhat for the game and somewhat to eat some good BBQ). That was a game effort by Caldwell last night. They were playing a triangle and 2 on the shooter #24 and the point guard #15. When the pg went down in the third quarter they switched to a b...

Re: Monroe Central 24-25

Hard to figure that one but Shenandoah has size and that is a rivalry game. I know it wasn't a blowout the first time (maybe 10 points) but it was a comfortable win for Caldwell so it could have been hungover from the first loss or looking ahead to the rematch for Caldwell. I watched both Caldwell/...

Re: Combined Southeast/East District Rankings

I can’t believe NO ONE mentions Tri Valley as one of the, if not, the favorite in D-3. They are a load and well coached. Tri Valley is very good and very well-coached. Who is denying that? If they win their next two games I'd say they have a chance to rise two or three spots further in D-III. Based...

Re: Pre-Christmas Awards

Decided to offer some early-season before Christmas Awards -- Southeast & East Districts *Best Team -- Minford (Honorable Mention Meigs, Hiland) *Biggest Turnaround -- Steubenville (10-13 last year) started off 5-1 this year and very tough. *Biggest Surprise -- Marietta (5-0) with key wins over...

Re: Marietta 62, Warren 56

I was impressed with Marietta. They seemed like they rotated players in and out of the game and didn’t skip a beat. They have four guards can really play ball. The big boy, Bass, finishes well. The thing I noticed that could potentially hurt Marietta throughout the season is foul trouble….Wittekind...

Re: WK 6: Fort Frye (4-1) @ Caldwell (2-3)

Nobody said he wasn’t good, we said he’s not a superstar. the kid who replaced him #33 did a pretty good job too. Obviously that’s the best Caldwell has played but we are a below average football team based on the previous two games where we were non-competitive against MC and Edison. That alone tel...

Re: WK 6: Fort Frye (4-1) @ Caldwell (2-3)

I agree that fort is better, miller is really good and that was a deciding factor. the bradford kid played until mid third quarter, he’s not a difference maker in football, he’s ok. i’m sure he’s a tremendous baseball player but this is football. this is not a really strong region so fort could make...

Re: WK 6: Fort Frye (4-1) @ Caldwell (2-3)

Herlan played tonight with a brace on. From the stands he didn’t seem to move really well but with a torn up knee that’s expected. This will be the last time these two play at the fairgrounds.

Re: Week 5: Caldwell @ Edison

According to Fantastic 50 Caldwell needs 5-5 to make the playoffs. They have to beat Shadyside and Shenandoah, then one of Edison, Fort Frye, Barnesville, or Toronto all of who he has favorited over them. Any chance Caldwell gets Harlan back for the second half of the season? i made the long drive ...
