Re: Monroe Central 24-25
Hard to figure that one but Shenandoah has size and that is a rivalry game. I know it wasn't a blowout the first time (maybe 10 points) but it was a comfortable win for Caldwell so it could have been hungover from the first loss or looking ahead to the rematch for Caldwell. I watched both Caldwell/...

Re: Combined Southeast/East District Rankings
I can’t believe NO ONE mentions Tri Valley as one of the, if not, the favorite in D-3. They are a load and well coached. Tri Valley is very good and very well-coached. Who is denying that? If they win their next two games I'd say they have a chance to rise two or three spots further in D-III. Based...

Re: Pre-Christmas Awards
Decided to offer some early-season before Christmas Awards -- Southeast & East Districts *Best Team -- Minford (Honorable Mention Meigs, Hiland) *Biggest Turnaround -- Steubenville (10-13 last year) started off 5-1 this year and very tough. *Biggest Surprise -- Marietta (5-0) with key wins over...

Re: Marietta 62, Warren 56
I was impressed with Marietta. They seemed like they rotated players in and out of the game and didn’t skip a beat. They have four guards can really play ball. The big boy, Bass, finishes well. The thing I noticed that could potentially hurt Marietta throughout the season is foul trouble….Wittekind...

Re: WK 6: Fort Frye (4-1) @ Caldwell (2-3)
Nobody said he wasn’t good, we said he’s not a superstar. the kid who replaced him #33 did a pretty good job too. Obviously that’s the best Caldwell has played but we are a below average football team based on the previous two games where we were non-competitive against MC and Edison. That alone tel...

Re: WK 6: Fort Frye (4-1) @ Caldwell (2-3)
I agree that fort is better, miller is really good and that was a deciding factor. the bradford kid played until mid third quarter, he’s not a difference maker in football, he’s ok. i’m sure he’s a tremendous baseball player but this is football. this is not a really strong region so fort could make...

Caldwell is playing without starting WR/DB Issac Cool (collarbone) starting WR/DB Brady Mazgay (transfer) Herlan playing with torn acl, freshman DB who started torn acl starting lineman serdy been out a month and two senior starters quit before last weeks game. They also wheeled starting LB/RB Moor...

Re: WK 6: Fort Frye (4-1) @ Caldwell (2-3)
Herlan played tonight with a brace on. From the stands he didn’t seem to move really well but with a torn up knee that’s expected. This will be the last time these two play at the fairgrounds.

Re: Week 5: Caldwell @ Edison
According to Fantastic 50 Caldwell needs 5-5 to make the playoffs. They have to beat Shadyside and Shenandoah, then one of Edison, Fort Frye, Barnesville, or Toronto all of who he has favorited over them. Any chance Caldwell gets Harlan back for the second half of the season? i made the long drive ...

Re: Week 4: Caldwell @ Monroe Central
MC by 10+ MC line is much improved and too many weapons on offense. You may be right but i’d be surprised if the MC line is the better of the two. A year ago Caldwell dominated up front in this matchup and 4 of the 5 kids are back. Monroe’s advantage i believe lies in the skill position kids. Howel...

Re: Week 4: Caldwell @ Monroe Central
Coach Calder has completely turned around a program that went 16-32 from 2018-2022. Since he’s been head coach, MC has been 10-4. MC/Woodsfield is 48-35-3 all time vs Caldwell. I think that MC wins but gets their First team that challenges them. MC’s opponents are 1-8 right now. MC is averaging 53 ...

Re: Week 4: Caldwell @ Monroe Central
If it’s close Caldwell wins. They’re better on the line of scrimmage. MC has the better skill kids this year with Herlan out for Caldwell. If MC gets off to a good start they could out athlete caldwell, if they don’t the experience Caldwell gained over the past year should help them pull it out. I e...

assuming this was about my looking forward to MC comment? I believe they will be greatly improved and it will be a very good game over there. i expect Caldwell to win but it won’t be easy.

other than the int return for a TD the difference is Waterford has about a dozen yellow flags to Caldwell’s maybe one? I’m sitting on the Waterford side, seems to be a lot of officiating experts who do not think the officials are unbiased

Re: Caldwell @ Waterford
Based on watching last week Caldwell really can’t replace Herlan, small schools don’t easily replace their best player. It looks like the passing game will struggle but i thought the line with the running of Leek and Crock could do well. A few solid youngsters out wide but no guy who scares you on O...
