Re: 2011 All-Ohio teams
A very deserving honor as well. I could tell by watching her bat that first game against Clay that she was a very gifted ball player. Just keep enjoying the sport. I have a daughter almost 30 and she still loves to play. Just played a co-ed tourney a couple of weeks ago. I remember pitching to her w...

Re: 2011 All-Ohio teams
Quite an honor to be selected 1st team all-ohio as a freshman. Congratulations Katie Stevenson.
Re: homeruns
Hempill started out the season just pounding some very long home runs but wasn't getting the ball up in the air very well the last few games. Jenkins caught the groove and just kept knocking them out the last half of the season. From the impression I got from reading posts and news articles on you g...

Re: hats off to the PDT
And how many articles does it take to report that Tressel resigned? The day after the story broke the first page was nothing but Jim Tressel articles. There were plenty of things that could have been reported locally. How long did it take to report that Notre Dame girls won thier final game of the s...

Statment not intended to stir up anything. My apology to anyone offended. Perhaps I was the one who was "stirred up". One must always remember to keep softball in it's proper perspective. P.R.

Re: Please post Saturday (5-21) tourney scores#
Notre Dame 6 - Clay 5 in 8 innings. ND thought they had the game won in top of 7th with 2 outs and no runners on. Hempill hit a hard shot to left field and advanced to 2nd. Craft hit one over the center fielders head to score Hempill and tie the game at 5. Clay out hit ND and had more earned runs. N...

You guys have an incredible grounds crew. Honestly , I was amazed at how good the infield looked when Clay came out to play. (outfield was a little sketchy but hey, what can you do?)ManitouDan wrote:retraction --lol , ND's field might be playable , possibility of East coming to ND

[quote="#1 softball mom"]When I see teams STAND and cheer on their teammates I tend to think they ARE a team. I would much rather my daughters team cheer than sit like "knots on a log" obviously not enjoying the game. As for the team that goes to the pitchers mound and "danc...

Re: Old School
Our girls have organized cheers they do throughout the game which has everything to do with our girl coming up to bat and nothing to do with flaunting or showing up. For example: when our #11 bats, the girls chant, "Youre the one 1 1, youre the 1 1, youre the one 1 1, youre the one!" When...

Re: Old School
Hey, just having some fun with all this. My kid (and others just like her) has developed some great friendships over the years with numerous girls from other schools around the area through athletics. She can walk away from a 10 run win or a 10 run loss with a great big smile on her face because she...

Re: Old School
If I had to choose between not paying attention and leading cheers, I'm with you pal, I'll take the cheers. I guess I should look at it in a more positive light. It is a great filler when a game is getting boring. I do get a chuckle out of the ones that can get their voices real low and start chanti...

How did Foster do? Is she the one who signed to play with Shawnee State?gahs4ever wrote:They brought her in in relief. They had had such a rough time with their OF play that they moved her to CF to start.

Re: Scores 4/26
anyone play ? thought maybe those with crushed brick might be able to squeeze a game in even though the OF's will be messy. quit raining around 3;30-4 in scioto co. delay the game til 6pm , prepare the field best you can and play. maybe I'm in the minority but I don't think we can wait for dry OF's...

Re: Old School
I can't help but chime in on this topic. The celebration part doesn't really bother me (especially with a high stakes game). If a team has worked hard during the off season and in practice the natural overflow is going to be a lot of celebration after a big game victory. What does annoy me is the pe...

Re: Games for Monday 4-25
To put it in it's simplest form, Notre Dame came to hit the ball, and Clay didn't put the bat squarely on the ball the entire game. Clay has gradually got into a slump as a team but has had enough talent to mercy rule just about everybody they've played. There should have been some red flags when th...
Re: homeruns
As a general rule that is probably true concerning the girls who play summer ball. Now with the bats, I have seen a huge difference in the composition and especially the price over the last 10 to 12 years. Maybe the Rocketechs were out there and I just didn't notice.

SOC 1 showdown Monday at Notre Dame with Clay coming in at 5pm. Then Tues ND travels out to Valley. another good game scheduled for thursday with Northwest . But the weather looks like it will once again reak havoc with schedules. This late in the year it's close to having to drop non conference ga...
