Re: Dover vs. Marietta
Big Cat, I am not hiding behind my name. I have been a teacher for 20 + years, a coach for over half of those years. I have coached volleyball and softball. I earned 7 varsity letters at Marietta in volleyball and softball and I played on the Marietta Cougars who won the State Championship in the 80...

Re: Dover vs. Marietta
I have sat back and read these comments for the last 2 months. I am so glad that the Internet wasn't around when I played. I would have been devestated by the comments. That said, I want to explain something to you.... There's an old saying, "You can't make a racehorse out of two jackasses.&quo...

Re: Marietta vs. Parkersburg
In all my years of athletics, I have never had a coach call and be concerned about his players like Springer has been. I respect that. He's making a lot of changes this week....all I can say is, "Go Tigers."

My son will be out on that field on Friday. Wishing him the best of luck and the rest of the Tigers too. Here's hoping for a great season.

Re: 2011 Marietta Tigers
John Layman bought the Creamy Creations for the Tiger Football program. The Tiger Touchdown club is going to run it. Once Mr. Layman gets his money back, this will be pure profit for the Tigers. Right now the team is having a raffle for a new 4-wheeler (sold at football games!), selling tickets for ...

Re: 2011 Marietta Tigers
Big Cat, I know who you are and I think you are a wonderful person. You have been great to my son and many, many others. You have a right to stand up for what you believe in and I respect that! I am just proud that my son is a Tiger. In order for him to respect his authorities, I have to respect the...

Re: 2011 Marietta Tigers
Last year, in my son's class, a teacher used the "F" word in a joke. The quote afterwards was, "Go ahead and tell on me, I have tenure." I can't say I was thrilled. Football is a sport where emotions take over, language is going to happen by both the players and coaches. I have w...

Re: 2011 Marietta Tigers
Please don't think I was trying to compare coaches. I have no idea what others have raised. I am just saying what I have personally observed. My entire reason for posting was to get the topic back on the topic, to quit the badmouthing of previous coaches and current coaches, and to try to get the co...

Re: 2011 Marietta Tigers
As a parent of a football player, I am frustrated with the comments on this board. My son has been attending weight lifting all summer. He also attended the camps. (BTW, they DIDN'T go over 10 days..that schedule was ammended!) Coach Springer has been nothing but positive to my son. Regardless of yo...
