Re: WEST BASKETBALL
When is this position going to be decided on? Also, my previous post was not to imply that the previous coach had done a terrible job or that he ruined the program. In all honesty, this position would be tough for anyone to take over, especially it being your first head varsity job.

Re: WEST BASKETBALL
I agree. I really thought Bradford was building the program and had it in the right direction before he stepped away a few years ago.Westfan wrote:That would be great if Bradford applied. He is a good coach. There is some good talent coming up.

WEST BASKETBALL
I still have a few west side connections and from what I understand the West job is open and Bradford has applied. I think it will be good to have him back leading that program again. It seems like the basketball programs over there are tough jobs, but I guess as a former coach and player at West he...

Phoenix31, how many of Clay's opponents have you personally watched to warrant such a statement? The Pfloyd eye test and rankings likely contain much more validity than just your opinion.

Re: D4 Boys Northwest Sectional Teams and Outlook
7. East (only beat Coal Grove by 4, trending in wrong direction with long trip to Symmes imminent, but with the talent , still possible to get it going and make deep run) Trending in the wrong direction? They have won 5 in a row... Only beating Coal Grove by 4? The Coal Grove who beat Portsmouth an...

Re: D4 Boys Northwest Sectional Teams and Outlook
I still think Webster gets more out of losing to Oak Hill/Wheelersburg/Waverly than they do by drilling weak D4 schools (like South Gallia and New Boston this year). Will the SOC II schedule typically hurt their seed? Yep. But will it better prepare their good teams for a run to Districts/Regionals...

Re: D4 Boys Northwest Sectional Teams and Outlook
I have always felt that a few things should weigh most heavily when seeding occurs: 1. Body of work 2. SOS or games of comparison WITHIN the sectional 3. Good wins vs bad losses I don't think many of you are truly giving the coaches much credit for their opinions. I think they do a better job most o...

Re: D4 Boys Northwest Sectional Teams and Outlook
Yes, I do. Scott didn't have 18 and 14 against SW. He did have 14, and likely 8-11 boards. Also, the game was controlled by East from the 2nd quarter on. East led by 8-10 multiple times and Webster kept it close. They also hit like 21 of 23 free throws. I am not arguing that the Tartans aren't a be...

Re: D4 Boys Northwest Sectional Teams and Outlook
I would agree that East is the better team..... before Scott went down. Webster had no answer for him and he was clearly the difference maker in the game. Now that he's out with an injury, I absolutely positively do not think East is better. I mean, just 5 days apart both East and Webster f...

Re: D4 Boys Northwest Sectional Teams and Outlook
Don't really have a dog in this one , but SW is 1-2 vs the SOC 1. And I feel they'd be the #3 team in the SOC 1...and Clay would be the #3 team in SOC 2.
Not that they couldn't potentially be 3rd in the SOC I, but I don't think they would be. East is in 4th, and I think they are better, and...

Re: D4 Boys Northwest Sectional Teams and Outlook
I agree with your statement. Didn't SW lose a starter here recently? Nope, bench player who didn't agree with his role. Jeeps have won 3 out of 4 since, only loss to an undefeated Oak Hill team. If we are being technical, he was a starter. He started several of their games in the first half of the ...

Re: Western @ East: Friday 12/9/16
East kids have solidified this reputation. No pot shots needed. They speak for themselves. I can read topix too! Cite a basketball game that you have witnessed them being excessively or purposefully hurtful to an opposing team..... Topix? The most trusted and reliable source for news! The fact that...

Re: Western @ East: Friday 12/9/16
Well if you've seen east play then you would know that they in fact are purposely rough to their opponents. That is what I mean by they will try and commit fouls (a little sarcasm. laugh a little). Anyway Manchester is highly improved as I went and watched that game and they aren't too bad. Compete...

Re: Western @ East: Friday 12/9/16
I'd like to know how many 15 yard personal foul penalties East had in this one. I'm sure the basketball coach has as much control as the football coach did!       Well, if we were to judge this program and its coach from previous history instead of trying to take...

Re: SOC Championship (9-0) East @ (7-2) Notre Dame
If we're in week 10 and you haven't played a full game to your potential yet, then there is likely reasons why. If you have been plagued by flags and turnovers all season, then there are reasons why. At this point, you are who you are. That being said, East has the advantages in depth, team speed, a...
