James Dempsey and Rick Edwards at Peake in early 90’s is best duo I’ve seen in SE district. Dempsey played at Marietta and Edwards at Richmond. Nathan Hughes and Ryan Ramey were in OVC and really good pair during the same time at Fairland.

Ironton likely will look for someone in the mold of Barnes-not a person who may challenge the football program for time/relevance like Zornes did.

Huntington with an upset win over Symmes Valley. Hard to see the score on their hudl cam — looked like 63-60 Huntington had been playing much better down the backstretch, but finally was able to get over the hump tonight. Good win for the Huntsmen. The 06 SW team lost at Ironton that season. The 05 Ironton team w/ Waginger and Gagai that lost to NCH (Mayo and Walker and Keenan Ellis)in finals was better imo.

Joey James was a PLAYER for early teams. BEAT an undefeated Chesapeake last game of the season one year I believe.

2 min left a 7-9 point lead and this tiger team was shooting 3’s. You really have to just dribble it out and make them foul at that point. Until there is a shot clock in HS use it to your advantage. Marietta is VERY GOOD. The guard and post player are elite. Pounded a good Fairland team. Marietta vs Portsmouth would be interesting.
