Re: 2019 Wheelersburg Pirates
The guy is a terrible coach. No one ever heard of anything from him until these last two seasons. Last year he walked inside the burgs locker, and then this year accused him of cheating. Ran a pee wee style offense and was lucky to have four grown men on the front four. Guy is getting out because h...

Re: 2019 Wheelersburg Pirates
Why wouldn't he be salty? He believes his team was cheated and alot of people outside the Wheelersburg school district believes they were too. Especially after the way Wheelersburg played the following week against a team that wasn't as physically gifted as Madison was. Do you really know who coach...

Re: 2019 Ironton Tigers Outlook
Regardless it doesn't make sense for a player to transfer to a district that they don't live in high school when you loose half the season and the playoffs.

Re: 2019 Wheelersburg Pirates
Football had the fiasco in Columbus. Rumors of possible PED use and recruiting. 8 technicals in 3 basketball games. With the Superintendent on the OHSAA Board, I would imagine he's had some uncomfortable dialog in the last couple months. No Fiasco just embarrassing accusations on a coach with a lot...

You may see a change with the burg. Word on the street is the Superintendent cracked the whip on the athletic program for behavior on and off the field/court.

Re: 2019 Ironton Tigers Outlook
Ashland had at least one player from South Point this year and there have been others, so Ohio to Kentucky must be ok
I thought you could go to an Ohio school and live out of state if you pay tuition?

No most of those schools aren't struggling and yes there is more to it than kids just showing up.Poo Bear wrote: Tue Jan 01, 2019 7:45 pm Burg has players from ironton , Portsmouth, Portsmouth m west , valley . All those are “struggling” schools ?

Re: Makya Matthews
Masters is gonna be a sophomore. He's a good passer, confident, but small physically. Will struggle taking hits unless he puts on weight and with less weapons around him, he's gonna take more hits than Salyers did. If Horsley or Miller doesn't get the job, Masters will and will be solid. The Freshma...

Re: Final 4: Wheelersburg vs. Johnstown
Was really surprising how much better Johnstown was then Wheelersburg last night. That was a butt whipping plain and simple. A team that has dominated defensively for a couple years looked lost. Like Superman lost his kryptonite. After the sideshow in Columbus, you have to wonder has something been ...

Cato, you theories are great. I'd love to hear what you think about the JFK assassination, alien life form in area 51, the Russian involvement in the last presidential election, etc. Does the national enquirer know they are missing out on a wonderful writer? Bet he knows what happened to D.B Cooper...

Re: Region 20 #8 Portsmouth West @ #1 Wheelersburg
I know 2 kids in the 7th grade , that was approached at the fair by a guy from Burg. Told them he seen them play basketball this summer and was impressed with their game. Told them they should think about transferring to Burg. One of them just laughed and said he is not a bandwagon jumper. Ask any ...

Re: Region 20 #8 Portsmouth West @ #1 Wheelersburg
I think the whole recruiting topic is completely comical and it’s funny that everyone seems to center it around football or boy specifically. You're correct in it's not just football. Basketball last year how many starters outside of Tanner Holden were Wheelersburg kids? Lowery - Portsmouth Truitt ...

Re: Region 20 #8 Portsmouth West @ #1 Wheelersburg
There were 78 players on last year's football roster. 30 was the CB number. If all those players had went to Wheelersburg since before 7th grade, then 38% of the roster (30÷78=38.46%) lived out of district. Wheelersburg closer to a private school than they are a public school. Your math is f@$%#d u...
