Re: Rules Question
The officials got it right. To appease the Hillsboro staff they even pulled out the rule book to show them the rule. Great call and great game overall.

Re: Clay vs. St. Joe
I may be able to provide some insight on the ISJ schedule. For years, the school has allowed students to travel to Europe on an educational tour. It's done every other year and is almost always scheduled right after Easter. The trip lasts anywhere from 7-10 days. The trip was scheduled for last spri...

Re: Clay vs. St. Joe
I'll respectfully disagree. It was a great game with #1 vs. #1 but it shouldn't have worked out that way. Is Clay the better team in a 1 game setting? Yes, but that's not what baseball is about. You have to manage your schedule as best as you can and in my opinion, Clay ducked ISJ because the pitchi...

Re: Clay vs. St. Joe
Congratulations to Clay tonight on the win. Hopefully this season causes the SOC to examine its bylaws and address issues where teams refuse to play games when the home field is in playing condition. Since the league title wasn’t in jeopardy it would have been nice to see Clay pitch their #3 pitcher...

Re: 4/29/21 Clay at St. Joseph......not really
The ISJ kids were told to report to the field at 3:15 in uniform for batting practice followed by a game. There is no miscommunication between the ISJ coach and AD because it’s the same person. The ISJ coach/AD was firm that the field was playable and the game was on. Clay made the decision not to t...

Re: 4/29/21 Clay at St. Joseph......not really
I am being honest that the field was dry. It was covered in anticipation of a game being played. I wasn't in Ironton all day so I have no idea if it rained all day but it wasn't raining there at game time. I didn't stay in Ironton to know if the game would have been finished last night or not. As to...

Re: 4/29/21 Clay at St. Joseph......not really
Apparently so. SOC needed to step up to the plate on this one and didn’t. Shame on them for letting such a precedent to be set. Schedules be damned. Burn up your #1 and # 2 pitchers already.....just refuse to play. Pure case of inmates running the asylum. 94% rain/thunderstorms all evening is good ...

Top 10 in the state? That’s probably a stretch.formerfcfan wrote: Thu Apr 29, 2021 5:01 pm Is ISJ really a top-10 team in the state?! Or are they a solid team where the ranking is inflated?

4/29/21 Clay at St. Joseph......not really
In SOC 1 play, Clay is scheduled to go to Ironton St. Joseph but has informed ISJ that they refuse to play in these conditions. The ISJ players are at the field in uniform and the field is playable because it has been covered. Can a team really just decide they aren't coming even when the field is p...

Re: 4/7/21 Scores//Updates
maybe thats a typo on their part? seems odd. But clay did score 16 against webster earlier, so its possible i guess. I’m not surprised that Clay beat someone 31 to 1. This coach has a history of putting up big numbers on people during his time at Clay. If you’d like a comparison to see how other co...

Re: SOC: A Third of the way thru the season
I believe the SOC 1 standings are complete. Even though there are a few games left on the schedule I don't think they are going to be played since at least the top 2 spots are decided. NB 13-0 (Owes 1 game with SJ) SJ 9-4 (Owes 1 game with NB) ND 7-6 (Owes 1 game with East) Western 7-6 (Owes 1 game ...

Re: New Boston Glenwood Tigers 2020-2021
It was safe enough to have their Homecoming ceremony at 2 pm but they were not able to host a game at 6 pm? I could understand this if the weather forecast showed the conditions were going to worsen throughout the day but that wasn't the case on Saturday. Sounds to me like the SOC needs to look into...

Re: 2/4 games
I'm curious how good NB really is compared to other county teams. Can they compete and beat West, Portsmouth and others? Is NB becoming the New Portsmouth of bb or is this cyclical? I'm 10K miles away from anywhere so it is hard to get the feel. Their JV team has won a couple games this year. They’...

Re: Pfloyd's Elite 8 of Southern/SouthEast Ohio - Week #10
Do league coaches correspond before seeding? or do they go solo? The coaches do correspond before seeding. Some will contact coaches outside of their own conference as well. I think some of it is to gather information on teams they may not have seen and don't know well. Coaches are also trying to f...

Re: Pfloyd's Elite 8 of Southern/SouthEast Ohio - Week #10
I wish the Southeast DAB would follow the East. They are far most transparent. The East posts the voting matrix (here is their D-II Girls Voting Matrix as an example). The voting matrix shows the seeding submitted by each school. The school does not seed itself on their ballot. And I believe the hi...
