Re: Gallia Academy 55 Chesapeake 20
Not sure on box score. But it was a closer game early on. GA opened things up as the game went on.

42 yard field goal is pretty impressive.

Re: WK2 0-1 River Valley @ 1-0 Gallia Academy
Wow. Another embarrassing week for the team from Bidwell. RV will always be "little brother" to GA (for a lot of reasons), but I sure wish it was the other way around. So what do we think about the new coach at RV? Is this going to be a short tenure? Only took a couple post once the final...

Re: WK2 0-1 River Valley @ 1-0 Gallia Academy
Only thing I will say about this matchup is that clearly River Valley faithful don't believe they have a chance. Otherwise, they would be on here talking trash like they normally do.

Re: 2018 Meigs Marauders Football Outlook
I see a coach that does as much as he can get away with. I don't know a coach in the area that doesn't try to do the same thing. Some can get away with more than others. Look at Howie Caldwell for instance, he is all over the court. Chalk it up to the fact some will pick him apart, others appreciate...

Re: The TVC’s biggest issue, and solution..
I can't see Gallia leaving the OVC. They are one of the larger schools, but overall its a competitive league. They have a chance to win, but by no means is it a sure thing.

Re: WK1 2018 Meigs @ Gallia Academy
Meigs makes this a closer game than people think. Gallia injuries are the difference in this game. Probably going to be a toss up and come down to the end.

Re: Coaching changes
The latest rumor I have heard, again I will say RUMOR, is that Meigs will be looking to get Jason Wright as the baseball coach. If my understanding is correct, he has been coaching at Oak Hill, but is a graduate of Meigs.

Re: 2018 Meigs Marauders Football Outlook
They are required to go to the church to eat. But he tells them if they don't want to participate in the half hour long devotional then they can stand in the hallway. That gentlemen is not considered optional. Check state and federal law on separation of church and state. Im not against teaching mo...

Re: 2018 Meigs Marauders Football Outlook
Is there a mandatory devotional while they eat?
Sounds like he is giving each kid the option to join or refrain from the devotional. Seems you would rather complain.

Re: 2018 Meigs Marauders Football Outlook
But The Preacher will make sure the whole team will be bused to the local church before every game for their meal and church service! If he was swearing up and down the sideline, using the Lord's name in vain, and cursing the kids out, you would be on here complaining about that as well. Stop troll...

Anyone heard of a fundraiser golf scramble held on a Sunday for High School sports? I was told Southern football is holding one in August on a Sunday.

Re: Southern looking for a new coach.
No idea if it is official yet, but what I heard was Alan Crisp is in the hunt for the job. He coached them in the late 90's and I believe he had them again around 2006 or somewhere around there. He's had some success in the past, but he also had his struggles.

Re: Surprise team in 2018
Looking at the Meigs County schools, I believe Meigs should be able to go .500 or better. Southern will be in a transition period with the new coach. I do believe the new coach is a great hire for Southern in the short term. He is a young guy that hopefully gains some success, but will probably jump...

Re: Coaching changes
I think the Meigs job will go to someone outside of the school. Probably someone in the community that wants to see a change in the culture. That would be my best guess.
