I think Portsmouth should have some pretty good skill players coming up. If they can put together some lineman and linebackers they should have a pretty decent year.

I would imagine that the expansion from 4 to 8 and then 16 teams per region helped the MAC more than anything. That league schedule has created scenarios where 3rd or 4th place teams are competing for State Titles.

South Point's visiting side is pretty similar to Portsmouth or Valleys. The main downfall that comes to mind is the access road getting in and out might get backed up with that kind of traffic

Agree on the officials, not only could nobody I was around figure out what they were trying to call but I got the feeling they weren't very confident with their calls either.

Portsmouth actually has great parking outside of the actual school lot. If you park at one of the church or municipal lots and walk a bit you can usually get out easily also. That ninth street lot can really be a hassle though and I understand how people coming from out of town end up parking there ...

That's a failed troll, why would a bunch of kids from Pedro, Coal Grove, Kentucky and West Virginia care about Ironton. Our kids have got to do better.

Portsmouth defense has been really good at forcing turnovers the last few years and just picked off another A-C pass early in the 4th.

Portsmouth is 3-0 in the first round since the playoff expansion in 2021. Clearcreek defeated Minford in 2021 but missed the playoffs in 2022 and 2023. Either way someone is taking their first L in the round of 16 this week.
