Re: DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIP Waverly (7) vs Unioto (2)
1. I believe if Waverly played Unioto 10xs we lose 9. 2. Freshman and Sophomore played against seniors there is a big difference between 15 yr olds and 18 yr olds physically and mentally. 3. It was a bad matchup. Waverly has 1 good ball handler while Unioto had 4 guards that defended ferociously. 4....

Re: 16 Team Playoffs worth it?
Too many teams. If you are going to water it down so much, change the regular schedule to 9 weeks. Teams that make the finals will play 15 straight weeks. The NFL at least gets a Bye week. 8 teams was perfect, in fact, I thought college should do the same, even with 1-4 hosting. Obviously, this is a...

Re: Trey Robertson Class of 2022
Trey's instance may be one where the transfer portal can help him. I'm guessing he is disappointed not to be D1 but the transfer portal keeps that dream open. Let's say he goes to Rio and averages 30 ppg. If so, then he may get some D1 offers. D1 schools are going to play it safe and let the smaller...

Re: Tayvion Galloway
Seen this happen to a few kids that were similar. They were better football players at the time but he has more upside with his size. Offers and visits as a sophomore, fewer as Juniors, and little once they become Seniors. I watched him play Waverly and he wasn't even noticeable on the field. The ne...

Re: Is ovc expanding?
I would like to see a league outside of a league for Football: For example, everyone stays in their league but schools like Jackson, Ironton, Chillicothe, Logan, and Burg play each other (many of these matchups already exist) it would help for scheduling and probably be a more difficult title to obt...

Re: Is ovc expanding?
What is the status of Northwest as far as football goes in the SOC? Are they being forced to make that move back to SOC II soon? If so then I could possibly see them interested in parting ways and joining the OVC.. playing a football schedule consisting of South Point, Chesapeake, Rock Hill etc as ...

Re: D2 Regional Semi Waverly (1 Seed) vs McClain (2 Seed)
Heath is going to be a really difficult matchup for Waverly with their size. Teams with more than one big do that to many teams. Not sure who guards #35? Heath also has an advantage by playing a team in Meadowbrook that is VERY similar to Waverly. They had a guard that played much like Robertson, sc...

Re: D2 District Championship Waverly vs Jackson…. updates
Robertson 23 off two thousand, been faceguarded his entire 4 years and double teamed, and Jackson decides to play him straight up man to man? let him catch it, no doubles, seemed like they weren’t prepared at all. bad coaching and scouting for the Ironmen. just simply let him erupt in the first hal...

Re: Valley at Waverly Friday 2/11
1. The refs let this one get out of control early by calling VERY little. This was an experienced crew that does many big game so I was a bit surprised. I know that letting them play seems to be the norm but there were ALOT of missed calls both ways. 2. Waverly's physicality causes problems for youn...

Re: WK13 Western Brown vs Jackson (rematch)
Block in the back when the Winters had a easy TD in the first half killed us! A horrible call , and another bad holding call that stopped a drive in the red zone, ok whatever , but then a holding call that would’ve set up 4th and 12 is picked up and waved off. Two even teams , let them decide it . ...

New Playoff System
Can we quit calling the new system the playoffs and maybe refer it to a tournament? I read a headline yesterday that said this was the first (insert school name here) to reach week 12. Okay, if you team made it to the playoffs in 2019, they reached the same level without winning a playoff game if yo...

Re: Week 10 Waverly at Oak Hill
No they probably wouldn't, the SVC teams are so set in their ways even though a move could help they wouldn't. They're simply content with playing average non league games and winning the SVC when in most years it's a 2 team race. This year it was piketon and the rest was just baaad. Piketon maybe ...

I get not going at all, especially the band with instruments. I mean the weather forecast was awful. However, the rain and radar had cleared by the time they left. Not good timing when your team is down IMO.

Re: Week 8: Wheelersburg vs Waverly
Why does Waverly not field punts instead of letting them roll for an additional 20 yards? I'm talking about easily fair caught balls. It has been going on for years. All year Waverly has had two guys back, not sure the change for Friday. It cost Waverly 40-50 yards on two punts. I've always hated h...

Re: Minford at Waverly
Waverly DEFENSE played their hearts out tonight, limiting the Pirates to 1 offensive TD. A punt return for a TD made it 13-0 after two Pirate FG’s. Tiger offense finally woke up in the 4th and answered with two TD’s to go up 14-13 but then a busted coverage TD pass (Pirates only offensive TD) ended...
