Re: Are schools charging for live streams?
Surprised that since we've overcome Covid to attempt a HS season, some on the site haven't moved over to crying that Live Streaming will be done in 5G thus exposing us all to mind-melding brain cancer....

As so many of us celebrate this outstanding news..... should someone be checking on those on the board who's hair may be on fire right now?

Re: Chaos In Ohio Football...Season On The Brink
Interesting to what happens in the spring if there isn't football. Not sure if its been mentioned. But the NCAA would have to increase the scholarship limits. Not every school has 7,8,9 guys leave a year for the NFL... even if they do there could still be more than a dozen or so seniors not leaving....

Re: OHSAA Shortens season
Throughout the history of our planet we've had..... Snowball Earth, Fireball Earth and now we have Cottonball Earth...… because we are so soft. The previous 2 were also extinction periods. We'll see how this plays out. BTW, I knew this was all coming when college's starting offering scholarships for...

Re: OHSAA Shortens season
How does high school play in Athens county or any mac school county where college has been cancelled? I hope they play just curious of how that will work? College football has no bearing over high school football. The MAC cancelled because of money not safety. Just curious is that why FCS cancelled...

Re: Week 1: Ironton at Burg
Some are effective. Mumps, measles, chicken pox are all between 88-98% effective from the data I found My bad. I thought you were talking about a vaccine for what we're dealing with now. So I gave data only on flu vaccine studies. I was I’m sorry. My # about the Covid Vaccine came from comments Dr ...

Re: Week 1: Ironton at Burg
If you listen to the experts they are hoping for about a 70% effective rate but said a more realistic number is around 50%. So if your waiting for 100% you will be waiting awhile. A lot of the schools you mentioned cancelled for financial reasons just as much as for the health reasons CDC data show...

Tell that to the MAC conference, Pioneer League.Div 2 and 3 Football , to the school districts thru out the nation and Ohio that has cancelled fall sports and in house teaching. All these schools Found A Way to keep the health of everyone involved safe. Everyone slowly kicking the can along and in ...

Re: League play only schedule
Division 1 Mac just called off sports. Possible huge hit to Ohio since a lot of those colleges are in the state. You are going to cancel college and not high school. I’m a bit worried now All non power 5 schools don’t have the revenue Tv wise to pay the bills. BINGO, football for some of non power ...

Re: MAC cancels all fall sports
Covid maybe the reason but it wasn't because of health concerns...… unless you count financial health concerns. The MAC cancelled because the big boys are going conference only. So, without those fat checks from Power 5 schools MAC athletic budgets lose a crap ton of money this season. There's reaso...

Re: Suspended Summer Workouts for Fall Sports
I believe all previously "paused" football workouts have resumed, but it sounds like Minford is the next to fall into this stoppage. What are others thoughts on a 2 week shutdown for an entire team because of a positive case? Should it just be the individual or the entire team? The quest ...

Re: New Health Order for Contact /Non Contact Sports (8/1)
Who is paying for all this testing? Like I said. Making all these hoops to jump through. Until the schools yell uncle! They can’t. That’s why they are trying to change it now. Sounds like from Lt Gov these guidelines will change and it's looking more and more like some sort of season will be played...

Re: New Health Order for Contact /Non Contact Sports (8/1)
Exactly what would more money do for the schools to fight Covid? If you were in charge in Washington, what would you have done differently? Well I was think money would help combat some of the guidelines and requirements to play. That’s a ALOT of covid testing for schools on a week to week deal. So...

Re: New Health Order for Contact /Non Contact Sports (8/1)
OHSAA has been invited to take place in the conference call with Lt Gov Husted tomorrow afternoon. OHSAA has also contacted the ohio department of health to modify safety and spectator protocols in certain areas, one is the testing. So let's not get ahead of ourselves and start speculating how this...

Re: Our Seniors deserve better
Hopefully we can get people in charge to just maintain a holding pattern. The numbers will drop as the pool of people voluntarily getting tested is saturated.... which is starting to happen. As I said in my 1st ever post a month ago, its simply how the numbers people are given are used by them to fo...

Link for mandate? It's actually what was put in place for 7 on 7's and is still in place for scrimmages. We don't know if it will stay in place for the regular season or not. I don't think we will have a season but if we do it will be interesting to see if they leave it in place. If they do, a lot ...

A few day's after Derek Dietrich was granted his release by the Reds because he wasn't placed on the Opening Day 30-man roster, Dietrich announced Thurs. that he will stay in the National League Central and sign with the Chicago Cubs. Surprising Dietrich would sign with the Cubs. Don't know what he...

Re: 2020 Cincinnati Reds
Derek Dietrich realized he was one of the fortunate ones. The Reds utility player, who was added to the teams player pool on Wednesday, acknowledged that he had contracted Covid-19 last month ahead of reporting to summer camp workouts. Dietrich tested positive in Goodyear, Arizona, before he report...
