Dedication
I keep reading that teams are focused on dedication to their programs by having off-season “workouts”. What happens when these kids have dedication for several years to a program only for a school to pick up an OE player from a neighboring school?? The kids who did some up for months or even years g...

Re: Logan makes it official; Peyton is the new Head Coach
Logan made it official on Monday with the board approval of Jimmy Peyton as their new HC. Peyton will look to restore a once proud and dominate program back to what it once was for a fan base that is passionate and ready for a winner again. Experience APRIL 2022-CURRENT Head Coach & Assistant A...

Re: Indoor Practice Facilities
Hot topic today… Ashland (Ky) Independent in talks to build an indoor facility. The question comes up as to why Kentucky schools can build these facilities but it is because they have what is called a nickel tax. Ohio does not have this to renovate or build facilities like what Raceland has now. He...

Re: Is Pendleton leaving Ironton?
Yeah, a buddy of mine said he was hired another year. Since he is a nonteaching or license holding public employee, he will always be hired on a one year contract. This is very typical of coaches who have day jobs and coach in the evenings. That’s correct!! All coaching positions are supplemental o...

Re: Impressive
First, YOU made the ridiculous comparison of Wheelersburg versus Cincinnati metro. And for the record, the star scoring system is the same regardless of school district. Second, I didn’t say I’m doing better in life like you claimed. Also did not say I’m in the top 1%. I said I’m doing better profe...

Re: Impressive
Comparing Wheelersburg (town of 6,000) to Cincinnati metro with a population of $2.3MM? LOL!! Can only speak for myself: finished 25th in class of 108 at Burg so not the greatest. Had no troubles in undergrad or grad school; Burg schools prepared me well. And now doing far better professionally tha...

Re: Is Pendleton leaving Ironton?
I am aware, and it's a youth rec league. Congrats, you're both again inaccurate. It's neither travel or school affiliated outside of NAME only. The Wheelersburg youth All-Star basketball team in neither funded by the school or actually a part of the school athletic programs. As you can see, these a...

Re: What is it going to take for Wheelersburg to be competitive with Ironton again?
The OHSAA sets the eligibility requirements in the state of Ohio, and a district can make it more strict if they want, but the OHSAA says you have to pass 5 out of 7. That's the ONLY grade requirement made by the state. There is no GPA requirement. You are educating me here… so you are saying they ...

Re: Impressive
Right? Again, the same response about academics on a sports forum. You can see they're in full attack mode against Ironton, which is comical. I also agree, Wheelersburg compared to metro- Cincy schools dwarf their academic achievement based on a state report card. We have kids going to MIT, Harvard...

Re: What is it going to take for Wheelersburg to be competitive with Ironton again?
All the kids playing football for every team will have the grades. Boards of education are required to adopt a board policy requiring students in grades seven through 12 to attain a minimum grade point average, established by the board, as a condition of participation in interscholastic extr...

Re: Impressive
After researching various teams that are on local schedules, I found that Canisius NY team on Ironton’s schedule had $22 million dollars in academic scholarships in 2024. I know several local teams celebrate athlete scholarships, but we should be spotlighting academic scholarships. I know it is a f...

There actually is an ignore function on this site. Please show them how to ignore someone. I doubt they actually want to ignore anyone. They just don’t like other people’s opinion if it is different from their own perspective. Throwing stones at a glass house here. *passes you a tissue

Re: What is it going to take for Wheelersburg to be competitive with Ironton again?
Oh, now you want to admit that you have family coaching. We all knew this from the beginning with the way you take up for certain people. You said in other posts that they were just “friends”. This is why you think it is ok to take from the education of kids to pay someone full time when it doesn’t...
