Re: Head Coach Vacancy
These school districts should understand that quality coaches aren’t lining up to apply for these jobs. A few of the open jobs (baseball and softball) had teams that were actually relevant this season. It’s sad to see board members let disgruntled parents make their decisions for them. Some of thes...

The Clay score was a bit surprising. I guess that is why they play the game because anything can happen on any given day.Buckeye1972 wrote: Wed May 19, 2021 7:30 am Notre Dame 10 Belpre 0 (5 innings)

Re: 2021 Softball Signings
A lot of talent on that list. One thing that jumps out at me is that Shawnee State is not on the list of schools. There is a new coach at SSU this year. Maybe that is the difference in seeing local girls being recruited. The old coach lived and was from the area. I am not sure about the new coach t...

Re: Sectional Titles
Most of the times, it is fairly simple to get out of sectionals. If you have a few "quality" wins then you only have to play one game to win sectionals. Moving forward this week, we will start seeing some quality teams play each other. The SV-Waterford game this evening will be a great gam...

Re: SOC 1 Predictions
Belpre mercies Green so they join East, New Boston and Western by finishing up their season in Sectionals. Notre Dame, Clay and Symmes Valley still remain. Will the 1, 2, and 3 seeds in the SE district pull out wins or will there be an upset. 5/18 (1) Notre Dame vs (8) Belpre 5/18 (2) Clay vs (7) P...

Definitely not any surprises here as well! I hate to see any team get mercy ruled but it occurs more often with some programs.

Re: Ironton softball 2021
14 innings , 2 games with a 4-6 hours rest in between is far less risky than 16 innings straight . And that travel ball event might have 1-10 or more college coaches with a checkbook ( offer) handy .. not exactly the same IMHO . Not crazy in the slightest. So let me understand your point. You say i...

Re: Ironton softball 2021
True. 12 innings on any pitcher this late in the season is risky though. Some of these crazy travel ball people play multiple games in one day and a pitcher could pitch far more than 12 innings in one day in the big tournaments. I can see both sides of the argument though. 14 innings , 2 games with...

Re: SOC 1 Predictions
I would say the "cream of the crop" of SOC 1 will bring home to wins tonight. The only doubtful team is Green. Belpre won't play their JV so I am going to go with a W for the Eagles here.

Re: D4 VS D3 VS D2
I understand D2s not playing D4s they have everything to lose and not a lot to gain. I didn't realize the D3s outnumbered D4 so much. Makes sense why they schedule with D4 so often and not D2. It also comes down to a lot to travel times since transportation is an issue. Many schools have to wait un...
