Re: Crowd Conduct
I was in attendance of the Waverly Unioto game. As an outsider looking in, everyone seemed dialed in and on the same page. Coach, players, fans, etc. Exciting and great game. Would never know there was issues internally. Good luck this next round. Amazing to already have gone to a game that is 13 h...

Re: Crowd Conduct
Saw two thing tonight while watching the VC Hillsboro game that not sure I've seen before. Class act by a ref to tie his shoe to get the game stopped so VC could sub out their 5 players on the floor, including a senior playing his last game, so he could take a bow one last time. Class act by the re...

Re: Crowd Conduct
As a broadcaster this season I have not seen any fights or anything extreme. However, we have had a couple fans thrown out of the gym for remarks towards the officials. However a few years ago, at Jackson I worked PA for a neutral site tournament game between Adena and Alexander where a fight broke...

Re: Crowd Conduct
Did read from another thread about Waverlys varsity coach's wife going after parents in the stands. Crazy things happen at basketball games from varsity down. Wonder what happened or did nothing happen?

Re: Crowd Conduct
Doesn't have to be a school administrator. Somebody or group of people put that tournament together, so they should also be the enforcement. Also, maybe hire a security person to help deescalate the situation. Proactive early is the key, However a lot of people just watch someone and don't squash i...

Re: Crowd Conduct
Honestly, you should not punish the kids. Also, a Ref with a quick trigger could clear out a whole field of teams. Proactive to me is if you see a fan being stupid, an administrator needs to be able to go over and tell them to settle down or they will be escorted out. For the youth league games sch...

Re: Crowd Conduct
I think more schools and places hosting youth games and youth tournaments need to be more proactive than reactive with punishment clear and dry ahead of time. What are opinions on whoever is hosting say ahead of time, if you have a fan ejected for poor behavior it is an automatic team loss and that...

Re: Crowd Conduct
How do you get ejected more than once in a two week span? I would think that the embarrassment to your kids of getting thrown out would be enough to stop it from happening again, but without even knowing who the person is, I’d guess this person will get ejected again in the future. Fake tough guys....

Re: Crowd Conduct
There was just an incident in Piketon over the last few days where a dad was big mad at a referee of a Junior High game for an ejection and put the official's full name on blast on Facebook. The popular " Offside " page caught wind of it and it looks like their 100k+ followers *encouraged...

Re: Crowd Conduct
There was a Waverly fan/parent ejected last night at Eastern Brown vs Waverly. I had not thought about it, but I cannot remember the last time I have seen this happen. Whatever the lady said the ref was VERY quick on the toss. Never been a licensed a ref, took classes, or had any training. But I've...

Re: Crowd Conduct
Oh when the tide is turned. I've saw several fan bases upset about how an opposing coach and team are playing against them. Ex. Pressing when up 20 in late second half, etc. But forget when years prior they did the same thing, when up by way more than 20 points. Lol. If you can dish it, at some poin...

Re: Crowd Conduct
I agree with attendance. I'm sure live streams have a say in that. I think a lot of times conduct is worse at younger levels from parents and the crowd. One big thing I've noticed at high school games is student sections have really calmed down from 15-20 years ago.

Watched on Total Media Sports but the camera doesn't show the incident. But was bad enough for both to teams to go to the locker room.

Re: Crowd Conduct
I have seen a few people make "early exits" this year. Most of them were sitting close to the court. Which explains why they would easily be pointed out for whatever they were saying. But did hear something happened at a Jackson game vs Vinton County and it was up a little ways in the stan...
