Re: Warren Coaching Job

Heard a name. Dave Everson. Supposedly interviewed when Peyton got job. There was a Dave Everson at Washington Court House last year. Losing record only one year there. Left voluntarily. Strong on discipline. Retired teacher. Don't know if it's same guy. I believe you are correct. 8-13 record at WC.

Re: DIII SE/East District

True, Marietta had not had a winning “culture” for a long time. To be 37-73 in the 5 years prior to 2022-23 and then share 3 league titles with Warren and have an .830 winning percent over the last two seasons isn’t. There is no point in arguing some of the other comments you made. But while it is ...

Re: Warren Coaching Job

Kupfner from PHS is the name I am hearing.

I know they had a guy in mind but it didn’t work out that is why there has been a delay.

Re: DIII SE/East District

Lotta loser talk coming from Marietta on this thread... It’s pretty standard at this point honestly. They still are trying to evade the negative culture. With that being said I’ve been impressed with them the last two years but they just proved how impressive Maddox and co have been over the last 2...

Re: Warren vs. Miami Trace Prediction Thread

I remember roughly 10 years ago when the Warriors played Unioto who was 26-0. From that experience I will say this MT team isn’t undefeated bc they’re above average. They are undefeated bc they are an ELITE basketball team. They have several different ways to be effective. It feels the same, Warren ...

Re: DIII SE/East District

I’ve only seen one other game where the refs blatantly ignored the “two-hand” guarding rule. Here’s the deal, Hawkins couldn’t be contained with normal bumping and hand-checking. Made quite a difference with Wittekind as well. Other players not so much. I just hate it when refs decide how they pref...

Re: DIII SE/East District

Refs let it go all night both ways. I can’t imagine anyone say any different. Refs stayed consistent I’ll say that. I believe Warren is poised to make another run. The game must be called different in Marietta, because the maddening allowance of two hands on the ballhandler has been allowed in near...

Re: DIII SE/East District

Make sure have your blood type card on you … wow Stadelman 12 Lupardus 8 Hawkins 13 Wittekind 6 You mean the officials aren’t calling the game. I’ve never seen the allowance of two hands to guard and hold the ball handler. Awful. Two hands is immediate foul or is there a different rule in Vincent? ...

The application pool is very large as usual.

Worth noting Schob wasn’t 1 of the applicants.

I believe we will have a decision by the end of February.
Did Welsh apply?
Not a name I heard, but another former coach did.

Yurp.

:D Smart man When are they doing interviews? No clue it doesn’t seem like there in a hurry to hire a coach . Hopefully this is good for the Warriors!! The application pool is very large as usual. I didn’t think Welsh was leaving Belpre ?
Not for Warren.
You don’t think Warren is a good enough job for him?
Well considering he’s at belpre, I’d say Warren would be upgrade. So no that’s not what I am thinking 😂

Re: Warren Coaching Job

Anyone know who the candidates are yet ?? I’ve heard Welsh’s name thrown around. Isn’t he a Warren guy? What was his record last time he was there? Apparently he’s responsible for the success of the Fort Frye offense. So maybe he can get it done at Warren too. I didn’t think Welsh was leaving Belpr...

Re: Warren Coaching Job

This is a fair and good take. A lot of Warren’s turnover has been circumstantial and outside of their control (as has been shared here). Kimes would probably still be there if the PHS job never opened…but he and his family are royalty there and the draw home was too strong. Day had a chance to go b...

Re: Meigs @ Warren 1/24

Look like the ref’s were on warren’s side also, not taking anything away from Warren, they have a good team, but come on ref’s The game was physical both ways. ** 16 point loss, and we’re blaming the refs? Really, Meigs offensively couldn’t handle tournament style whistles. Also taking forced fade a...

Re: Warren Coaching Job

Don't think anyone is denying the revolving door at head coach is bad and not sustainable for a program. With that being said, the days of going 0-10 with majority of those games being running clocks are gone. We just went 7-3 with a league title (don't care that it is only 4 teams). Let's celebrat...

Re: Warren Coaching Job

Warren Football doesn’t exactly have the winning tradition pedigree for there to be a pool of football genius alumni living in the community. The memory of winless seasons should still be fresh for many— Payton ruffled some feathers and Kimes was also short-lived, but their combined short tenures a...
