Watched both of these teams play the other night. Both of them struggled at times, but both battled their way to victory. Should be a great game to start the day Sunday at the Convo!
I'll go with Valley cutting down the nets, 56 - 51.

Re: FAIRLAND (2) vs. WHEELERSBURG (7) 2/25 @ Waverly Downtown Gym
Fairland wins this one 67-42.
Anyone know what is wrong with Burg this year. They look really bad. They have some good athletes. They are just not playing good basketball at all.

(5) Portsmouth West vs (4) Valley @ Jackson
Late tip off for this game. It looks like the previous two matchups between these two teams were close. From the games I've seen Valley play this year, they are only using 6 guys, which I believe is because they have 2 players out for the year. Hopefully they can stay out of foul trouble and their l...

Re: Valley @ Wheelersburg 2/4/25
Minus the West game, the Indians have been on a roll as of late. Only issue I see for them is that they only use 6 players. Be nice if they had a bench they could use to keep legs fresh throughout the game. But after their 6th man, it's JV players. I don't keep up with the basketball team as much as...

Re: Burg vs West
This should be a running clock. As I stated in other SOC team vs Burg threads, Burg will win by a running clock to all SOC teams. No SOC team can hang with Burg. That's just the truth that some don't want to admit.

Re: Wk 10 Minford (1-8) @ Valley (2-7)
I know that people say records can be thrown out the window for this rivalry game! And while that has been true most years, I don't foresee any issues for the Indians with this game. Running clock by 4th quarter is my prediction. Last week, Valley didn't have an answer for that running back. No one ...

Re: Wk 9: Waverly (5-3) (3-2) vs. Northwest (4-4) (1-3)
This could get interesting. Northwest will have trouble stopping the pass and Waverly will have trouble stopping the run. Could see this game being like 35-28 with turnovers deciding who wins. Northwest laid an egg against Portsmouth West, but they still aren't a bad team.

Re: WK9: Grandview Heights @ Valley
This is a big one. Win this and they are looking at a great chance at a home playoff game. Lose and they are most likely out. Would love to see the Indians pull out a win. I think they can do it. The only hesitation is that they have shown over and over again this season that they have a really toug...

Re: Burg missing playoffs?
I said this in an earlier thread. Burg will win out. There is really not much of a difference in Valley, West, and Waverly. I predict they will have a running clock on the remainder of the teams. They play an extremely tough non conference schedule. But when it comes to SOC play, they still are quit...

Re: Wheelersburg @ Waverly
I think this will be a running clock. In my opinion, there is not much difference in Waverly, West, and Valley. Even with Burg losing quite a few games in the beginning, they are in full control of the SOC.

Valley (1-6) @ Oak Hill (1-6)
I will take the best 1-6 team in the state, Valley, to win fairly easily. They may come out sluggish from the drive but think this is a running clock by the 4th. Besides Burg and Piketon (they just didn't show up that game), they could have won the rest of those games. They just have not learned how...

Re: Week 7: Valley (1-5) @ Portsmouth West (4-2)
Could see this game going either way, but as cg20 pointed out above, Valley seems like a different team at home vs on the road. Would’ve expected to see a Parker v McNeil matchup a few weeks back, but Bishop v Aaron not too much of a drop off! After seeing West, Valley, Waverly and Northwest this s...

Week 7: Valley (1-5) @ Portsmouth West (4-2)
Thoughts? Interesting game to me. If Valley's D plays like they did against Northwest, it's going to be a long night. Northwest ran at most 5 plays and Valley still couldn't stop anything. They are going to have to clean up a lot of things this week. They've shown they can play D. They just have to ...

Re: Northwest at Valley
Valley by a field goal I do not know, but does muletown have a capable kicker? Seems like they usually have a soccer kid that is at least adequate. Not muletown, Valley. Was thinking about the NW vs muletown game last week. Whats Valley's kick personnel look like? Valley's kicker is the best in the...

Re: Northwest at Valley
I'm going with Valley. It's hard right now seeing us sitting at 0-5, but when they come to play, they can hang with most everybody. There's no reason that with effort and the ball bouncing in favor of the Indians that they can't finish the season 5-5. Even with out McNeil. I know that we got throttl...

Re: WK:5 (0-4) Valley @ (1-3) Wheelersburg
Someone needs to start a thread about Burg where all the Ironton posters can go and flex their muscles instead of sabotaging all the game threads. As for the topic of Burg vs Valley, I hope Valley can hang with Burg much like they did with Waverly. DB's are a huge issue for Valley and I can see Burg...

Re: Waverly at Valley
I really thought Valley had a chance to be 3-0 by this point. Now we have a good chance at starting 0-5. They have some pretty good athletes on the team, it's just not translating to wins on the football field. Obviously some changes need to be made, but at this point, I'm not really sure what those...

Re: WK3 Jackson @ Wheelersburg
See Jackson winning this one. Still unsure on this Burg team. They seem young and I'm just not high on them. I don't think they win the SOC this year. I know they are playing tough teams right now, but this burg team just doesn't seem all that intimidating to me.
