Re: Portsmouth Lady Trojans 2024-25
They will go to the Southeast regional. They would have to be the 3 seed in the district to end up in the bracket going to the Southwest and I don't see that happening. That's how I understand it anyway. #1 seed gets to pick the bracket they want to come out of. #2 goes opposite. Everything fills i...

And if folks think Rio can compete in NAIA with local talent, they will be disappointed.

You obviously don’t know the size of NAIA and NCAA DII and III schools who play football. But okToddster25 wrote: Sat Nov 16, 2024 9:25 pm Way too small a campus for football

Re: HS Playoffs in WV Threatened By Litigation
WV started this mess when they allowed students to transfer schools with no penalty of sitting out X amount of games or the school being slapped with a competitive balance number. A lot of the schools have suffered due to the “star athletes “ all moving to the same school. So now you have stacked t...

Don’t know Schoonover, but I do know Cross. Played at Warren Western Reserve and coached power programs at Grove City and Canton McKinley. Member of the coaches Hall of Fame. Trust me, he ain’t getting outcoached, lol. Many OCC schools do involve their HC when hiring assistant coaches . Hard to do a...

OCCwas a horrible horrible move. However don’t blame the one year wonder of an AD. That decision starts at the top and works down. None of this is what was best for the kids in any sport.

Re: Ironton vs. St.Francis of NY.
That doesn’t seem like much, but some of these schools are always looking for games; for Moeller, the drive to SEO is one of their shorter trips. Plus, $5k is better than zero. For a team like Moeller 5K probably is but a drop in the bucket but for certain schools that's a nice pay day. I know for ...

Re: 16 Team Playoffs worth it?
If you even played football, it must have been with one of the pathetic programs that rarely to never made the playoffs. And as for kickstarting your program, this will do nothing for that. Just putting your school in position to get thumped once again. As for injury, anyone who has played football...

Re: The Cost Of Hosting An OHSAA Sectional Basketball Game
Many don’t take parking. Programs are nonexistent. A little money to be made unless it’s a solid crowd. Been to 6 different tournament locations so far this year and 2 have done parking, but one was Jackson and the other was the Convo, which both have done parking for years. The only programs sold ...

Re: 16 Team Playoffs worth it?
Springfield makes it all worth it. 12 seed playing this weekend Springfield as a 12 is a little deceptive. Only reason they ended up a 12 is because they lost their QB during game 2 of the season and had to reinvent their offense. Once he came back, they returned to being better than a 12. This is ...

Re: 16 Team Playoffs worth it?
Doesn't Maryland let every school in the playoffs? Most states allow all teams in. If you want them all in, play 8 regular season games. 10th week , those who get beat by 20-50 in first playoff game can pick up an extra game to make it a 10 game season. This whole ohio playoff system today, is a co...

BS, article with an agenda. You fail to mention they get parking, concessions and programs. And FYI it’s a tournament, it’s not a home game.

First off let me thank the Alexander people who put on this shootout. You all are classy people who do it right. Yea they brought some players for sure They have 19 players on their roster, including 4 over 6’8”. They brought 4 seniors, and a few juniors and a Soph i believe. Here is their roster off of their own website. Again, solid win against very good athletes. https://www.spireinstitute.org/academy/acad...
