Re: Coronavirus: What happens to the season?
I would be surprised if we have any spring sports played in Ohio. After this 3 week break, there is still a chance schools will have the break extended. I believe there is the thought that new directives are being handed down almost daily, so there is not a rush to plan too far in advance. I think w...

Re: Coronavirus: What happens to the season?
Some NCAA programs have cancelled remaining winter sports and spring sports. If this is happening at that level, I think it would be hard for high school level to continue as normal. Not saying I agree with it. Just what I see happening. I think we are about to see a lot of local schools close its d...

Re: Coronavirus: What happens to the season?
Athens City Schools are shutting the doors until March 30th. So we need an Athens poster to tell us if they are still practicing baseball/softball/track during the closure.

Re: Coronavirus: What happens to the season?
Baseball should be one of the safer sports. There are really not that many fans at most games (100 instead of 1000s) and the players don't contact each other near as much as basketball, soccer, and football. The only safer sports would be golf, track, and cross country. I do wonder about the big sp...

Re: River Valley Athletic HoF
Not intended to start a war here, but a serious question. How many kids would be Gallia County Local HOF'ers if they had not went to Gallia Academy when they reached high school? I know there are several really good athletes that helped Gallia Academy over the years that came from the county.

Re: Gallia Academy Football 2020
Where inside the city limits did they want to build a new campus ? I do understand the attachment of history but Memorial Field gets pretty rough at times. An overhaul such as Tank Stadium in Ironton would help. I'm not saying there is really a great place in city limits. Unless this renovation doe...

Re: Gallia Academy Football 2020
Folks at GA had no say and it has hurt the kids that came after. Folks in town didn't want the school to move out of the city limits in the first place. They also did not want to leave Memorial Field. Too many people attached to the history of that location. Where inside the city limits did they wa...

Re: Gallia Academy Football 2020
That would be neat. Jackson /Logan open up the year. Jackosn /Ironton scrimmage week before. So in a sense Jackson still does as you suggest. Warren would need to get ALOT better. I know warren is building some huge new schools as we speak. I do not know if that includes new sports complex, footbal...

Re: Kobe Bryant Killed in Chopper crash
It is a shame that families had to find out through a TMZ report, not that getting the call from the sheriffs office would have been any better. But just seems pretty classless for any of the outlets to report names prior to authorities doing their jobs.

Only way Trimble should leave the Hocking is if they are requesting it. Otherwise, all the other Hocking schools need to beat the best, to be the best. Don't try to dodge Trimble. I would like to know if there is any truth to Southern being the big pushers of Trimble getting pushed out, or if this ...

Re: WCH coach placed on administrative leave
Back in the day, my baseball coaches would put a 12 pack in the water cooler that we drank out of. After the game, most of the water was drank and the coaches had a nice little treat while they worked on the field, once all the kids left. If this went on today, they would be run out of town. But bac...

Wahama hired a college coach and word on the street is that they are getting some kids from Point. The Dad I talked said they plan to kick all yer arses before they cut and run to that WV league. You mean Ed Fry, the former Meigs High School coach, and volunteer assistant at Rio Grande? I know he d...

Re: All Time Winningest Programs in Ohio
Didn't know Southern was really good at basketball Those results are felonious at best. They include wins from when they Were Racine High School. We would be on that list too if we included wins from Chester and Tuppers Plains High Schools. Racine high school is southern high school. Chester and tu...

Re: WK 11: Gallia Academy (9-1) @ Waverly (8-2)
Wow, hate to say told ya so!! Another team that had no business in the playoffs, beating Div 5 and 6 schools in league. The AD needs to go look for div 3 and 4 playoff caliber teams to schedule, that way we can find out if we are playoff caliber. Right our league is like a high school senior going ...

Re: Football Officials
The TVC needs an assigner who can also evaluate the individuals and crews. That way coaches and AD's could send film in with examples of their complaints about a crew. I would suggest not having guys/gals who coach or teach at a school in the conference do games that involve their home school---in ...

Whatever they decide to do, I hope they decide sooner than later. Would be helpful for scheduling if they announce a decision before the end of the school year.

Re: Kent Wolfe's 2020 South Gallia Rebels
I won't sling any mud, it is not my place, but I'll simply say I am positive Kent didn't help himself out. I'll agree with you, in that he should have went to SG earlier. In fact, he should have never went back to Southern. He was a bit of a legend of the 82 team, almost mythical. So when he came ba...
