Re: Valley 42 Minford 14
Look at who the AD is at Minford and you will understand why Ruby still has a coaching job. I agree with the posts about the good ole boy system at Minford. They will never succeed as long as that is their practice. If you are fine with failure and mediocrity then promote your family members and bud...

Re: High School Athlete Drug Testing
baseball16, not surprised that you revealed that you are a coach. I am glad that you have given us a coaches perspective. I'm sure you have a lot of things to deal with as a coach and have allowed yourself to overlook smaller violations like tobacco use, but tobacco regardless of the athletes age is...

Re: High School Athlete Drug Testing
What about tobacco. There would be entire baseball teams have to sit out for that if it was tested You are 100% right! Tobacco is covered in the student athlete rules meeting that all parents and student athletes must attend annually. However it is so frequently overlooked. There are rules in place...

Re: High School Athlete Drug Testing
This will be my last comment on this topic. I truly believe it is not the school's responsibility to implement these procedures. I cannot say enough; it should be the PARENTS and Families that holds these kids accountable. Schools are always looked at to institute policies and procedures for a lot ...

Re: High School Athlete Drug Testing
I joined the forum specifically for this topic. So thank you all first and foremost. The company I work for performs student drug testing for more than 100 high schools throughout Ohio. The goal of any student drug testing program is prevention. It gives that student an opportunity to say "no&...

Re: High School Athlete Drug Testing
LHS, your correct on the financial side of the test however training the administrator of the program and the folks who will do the testing is a cost the school would absorb as well. Remember this testing must be done with no discrimination, what I mean is athlete or not its the same. As far as the...

Re: High School Athlete Drug Testing
Now this what I like to see!! People getting their thoughts together to help our kids! We have got good thoughts coming out. Yes ultimately ALL school personnel, faculty, students, administrators, janitors, bus drivers, etc. should be tested and if a positive test pops up you handle it. You handle i...

Re: High School Athlete Drug Testing
I would like to challenge all area PARENTS to enforce a very strict drug policy and follow through with your established consequences. I think it is shameful that there are so many athletes that are known to be using/abusing drugs and the PARENTS are turning a blind eye. I am sure someone reading t...

Re: High School Athlete Drug Testing
True, the parents are responsible for their kids. But the school has a policy in place that is as worthless as the toilet paper in the restroom. Without both parties being proactive in developing these kids the ball will always be dropped.

Re: High School Athlete Drug Testing
As all parents have to sit through the mandatory OHSAA meeting every year, so your child can play sports at your school, and listen to all the rules about snuff, drinking, smoking cigarettes and drugs. It would be nice to know that we aren't wasting our time. Every parent has to sign a form with the...

Should be a great ball game. Valley had better run and gun to beat them, let Rolfe run the floor and keep the tempo up. Alex's big boys may not handle the running game as well as they do the half court slow set game. Will be rooting for the SOC, ROLL TRIBE!!

Congratulations to the seniors on a great 4 year run. It was fun watching your guys' accomplishments. All-time Most successful class to ever play at Minford, 3 SOC titles, single game scoring record, and one of the highest scorers in program history. And 2 years you played in D-2 against tougher pro...
