Re: Soccer Officiating Class

I spoke to Tim Armstrong yesterday and he is offering another class starting the first of July. HE said that would be his last until the season is over. Everything is online but there are other courses out. Take his for someone local or take a different one if you want to get started sooner/later.

Re: Soccer Officiating Class

Agreed. There are several opportunities to make decent money and get experience. In the southern Ohio area though, the tournaments can get old driving different places every weekend if that's what you want to do but getting comped a hotel room and making $600 over the weekend is pretty good too. THe...

Re: 2023 Season

I was at Green for a track meet and their new turf has lines. Anyone know anything about them getting a team started?

I've also heard the rumors surrounding Ironton. Going to be interesting to say the least.

Re: Boys Southeast District Schedules/Scores 2021

Both were called offside. Unioto scored first and it was waived off several seconds after it was in the net (I think was the right call), which led to Unioto’s players celebrating and gave Alex a great chance to counter. Alex’s player who was called offside had the ball for a solid 3-4 seconds and ...

I've worked with Mark several times throughout my career. Always a hug. Always candy. Always teaching. It's been a couple years since our last match together but he was genuine in everything he did while at the field. USSF, High school, college, MArk did it all. He will be greatly missed. Continued ...

Amazingly, both teams had a goal taken off the board in the final 25 seconds of the match
This one requires a little more detail than just goals pulled back... what happened? 1 for EACH team??? Glitch in the Matrix?

Re: Boys Southeast District Schedules/Scores 2021

I guess with the rain the night the real value of having a turf field was seen. Minfords field was under water this morning and they’re hosting Waverly tomorrow night. I’m not sure if the game will be played or not but I would assume the grass will be horrible for the remainder of the season if the...

Why are we digging up an 11 year old thread that has nothing to do with soccer?

Re: Division III Boys Soccer Tournament schedule, scores, etc.

The Lynchburg Grandview game is telling but not for the reasons one may think...

LC had 4 starters out that game for "undisclosed reasons" - injury, COVID, whatever... Not sure how down LC was at the Burg game.

I think it's going to be a lot better game than some may think.

Personally speaking, I couldn't care less what you're yelling about. I, generally speaking, only care about the players and the coaches and what my crew says. But I understand both points being made. #reflivesmatter My issues comes after hearing a complaint not letting it go. I'll hear your side, gi...

Re: Division III Boys Soccer Tournament schedule, scores, etc.

I've been to Lynchburg this year a couple times... The field is solid. A couple spots that won't be even but at this point in the season, show me a perfect grass field and I'll show you a professional stadium or a team that didn't play all season. As far as seating goes... the aerial view is pretty ...

Re: Unioto crushes New Lexington 18-0!!!

I despise a mercy rule. It takes away opportunities from players to play. That's what interscholastic sport is for. While losing that bad sucks, kids need the exercise. Kids need the opportunity to play. The program I had played for took their lumps, a few years later...sectional champions. I am mo...

Re: Division III Boys Soccer Tournament schedule, scores, etc.

It's always a fun time when you can literally pour water out of your shoes after a game... add in some wind and 46-50 degree weather and it's down right miserable to play, coach, officiate, and watch. All 4 of these teams stepped up tonight. Burg simply dominated. North Adams kept their composure an...

Re: Aaron jolly - burg

Who has the single season record for Burg? Craft? Lewis? Jolly has to be getting close. Not diminishing 100 goals but I believe with a favorable tournament draw he could see another 6-10 depending on the games. Craft had 35 his senior year, Jarvis 39, Jolly had 40 last year, and Lewis had 51. I am ...

Re: Tournament Seeding

I think Unioto closes out the season with Alexander. Not sure if home or away. It will be interesting to see how they bounce back from the loss last night at Burg. With players out at different times, games postponed or moved, this whole season has been both a breath of fresh air and extremely frust...
