Re: Rio Grande Football Coaching Change
Rumor around campus is he was found out to have been sleeping with the Rio girls softball team and teachers at the elementary school and he's married.

Re: Gallia Academy 2024
Your right because Holzer offered the money, but no because of the name Memorial field, would not change to Holzer field 🏈 Memorial Field at Holzer Stadium... Problem solved. That's great, but once it's moved will it still be called Memorial Field? Probably not, bc those in charge probably don't kn...

Re: Rio Grande Bringing Back Football
I will happily admit when and where I am wrong... when I was closer to Rio (grad school, teaching Comp), the track program certainly had some regional standouts (Robert, Perry), but the team wasn't nearly as local as it has become. And good for the Red Storm. I see that the men finished second in t...

This doesn't include track and field. Does track not have a voice at the statewide level?
Not really, since track doesn't bring the $$ like football, basketball and baseball

Re: GA football
Blame those that wanted the city school moved to a cow field out of town and didn't write in funding for the field to be moved or built unlike both county schools who did. Kids have always played there and no one has gotten sick, and that was before EPA regulations and things were bad with the plant...

Re: River Valley Job
Said it before and I'll say it again, they need to coach basics and fundamentals from biddy league up. Coaches want to need to be there, not begged to do it just to have a team. They also need to give kids playing time when the score is high, everyone knows practice and game time are 2 totally diffe...

Re: Trimble @ River Valley
Trimble ends the regular season with a W. Hopefully RV can figure out what they need to do to get their numbers up this off-season. Make football fun again for those kids. Have seen it and said it for years. They need back to basics coaching. How to block and tackle, have a good lift schedule, simp...

Re: River Valley - Athens
The real problem at RV starts in the youth league with parents who tell their kids they are fantastic and coaches who think they can coach bc they played in school, or coach but don't teach proper techniques and by the time they get to jr hi/hs the kids think they know it all and won't listen to coa...

Re: Week 5: Meigs @ River Valley
Imagine how rough it’s going to get for this football program if/when RV approves soccer. So we’re looking at firing the current head coach, right? Then what, begging the SG coach to switch over to RV? They have soccer at the middle school this year as a club sport. I think that puts the nail in th...

Re: TVC Ohio to amend membership rules
Schools around here can't afford the 10's of thousands of dollars it takes to install and upkeep a turf field, for 5 games a year, maybe 10-15 if they have jv & jr hi play on it. Gallia can't even get a stadium at their school, let alone afford turf, ya'll keep dreaming though.

Re: University of Rio Grande Football
URG should be ashamed of themselves for sending long time Track and Field coach Bob Willey out to pasture. He has done nothing but promote and live for Rio. AD and Administration made a mistake! Also, I wonder when the Administration will ever put money into the sports program outside of basketball...

Re: WK9 Athens - River Valley
Athens can't stop the run, which river valley does pretty well. Athens passing is very below average Wasnt RV coach at Meigs last year yes he was a lineman coach but I think he resigned from river valley's head coach spot I believe he was forced to resign after the team walked off and refused to pl...

Re: What going on with River Valley football
Did they walk out of a practice? It was an organized team mutiny, apparently. Organized by whom remains to be seen. What happened to when you walked out like that you were off the team? 2 of my kids have graduated from RV, 1 played football and they didn't win more than a handful of games in 4 year...

Re: What going on with River Valley football
A "dickhead" coach . . . you mean a coach that expects the players to be on time, attend practice, be in the weightroom during the summer, oh and not to mention work hard, to not take vacations after August 1st (when mandatory state practice starts) be unselfish . . . I could go on and on...

Poor RV, idk what they need to do, but hopefully they can pull it together or kids are gonna refuse to play for a loosing team, no matter who the coaches are.

Re: GALLIA ACADEMY vs ATHENS WEEK 2
What was Joe's record against Gallia? 2-1 as a starter. Lone loss against a team led by probably the best coach GA had since Saunders or Boko. I don't think Joe started as a frosh. Also is Gallia that good or is Meigs that bad? I think Gallia is decent but Meigs is that bad also. Idk if Meigs is ba...
