It’s not about whether the player was ineligible or not, it’s about the games that had to be forfeited, games Athens may or may not have won without that player, but due to ineptitude didn’t get a chance to find out. Maybe you can get that around your head.

Athens is at best a big fish in a little pond. I don’t remember Athens doing so well when they played in the SEOL against schools similar in size.

The Max Prep list is entire Division I believe. It is computer generated so wrong results or incomplete results can make it off. With that being said, IMHO Marietta is the best girls team in SEO regardless of division.

Finally was able to take in a Meigs game tonight. Not only does Meigs have height at all positions, but plenty of athleticism as well . Anyone know why Meigs is not playing in any tournaments? Were they not invited, not accept, or just lost in the shuffle because of the coaching change?

The problem with pay-to-play is in the name. Numbers slowly drop because parents attitude is “ I’m not going to pay x$ to have my child sit the bench.”

With the mess, the current AHS AD has made with girls sports, I doubt any girls sports will continue to grow. Why would any top female athletes play for a school that dissent value girls sports? Athens borders at least six other school districts that would welcome them with open arms.
