Re: WEEK 9 --(4-4) IRONTON @ (3-5) GALLIPOLIS. OVC ACTION.
The biggest difference is numbers. Period. Used to be Ironton dressed 60 kids -10th grade thru 12th grade only- now we start with 50 kids that includes all freshmen. There have always been injured players, but, in the past we had the kids to plug in when it happened. So with a few injuries you drop ...

Re: Issues between cheerleaders and the band???
Neither the band nor the cheerleaders matter! If not for the Football Teams they would be bored on Friday nights!

Re: OHSAA votes down the proposal to extend the season
Great move. You'd have kids forgoing playing HS ball because it would run into travel ball. Travel ball would adjust and start later I think I disagree, I live in the Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia tri-state area. My kid plays on a WV travel team, they do not give 2 craps about OHSAA rules....

Re: So all prviate schools recruit?
In 2013 when Trimble went on that magical run to state to face Marion Local, the head coach for Local was interviewed by a Canton paper maybe, one of the local papers at state. In the article he discussed the benefits the kids playing in the MAC had. These included nearly all came from two parent h...

Re: So all prviate schools recruit?
I believe that if Lawrence county would ever happen to have a perennial state power in football, It would have to be Ironton St. Joe. If all the best in the area "decided" to go there, imagine what kind of Div. VII team could be assembled year in and year out.....

Re: WEEK 8 (4-3) IRONTON @ (6-1) COAL GROVE.
Ironton will continue to go the 2 best players on the team now to win, #7 and #44, and why? Because a job now depends on it! Funny, how our Tiger's best talent lately is from transfers from other schools. Old habits are hard to break, I guess. Make no mistake, we take all comers. But, I'm so afraid...

Re: WEEK 9 --(4-4) IRONTON @ (3-5) GALLIPOLIS. OVC ACTION.
Ironton as bad as they want it to be. I heard the ONLY thing this Penrod guy did right coaching wise, was leaving his starters in against Rock Hill's second and third stringers. Otherwise Rock Hill would have hung 70 on them.
Ironton's #7 will run for 200+ yards and look for us and #9 will too.

South Point Football
What is the latest? Heard last night that they may cancel the rest of the season. I honestly hope that it hasn't come to that....Nobody want to see a squad injured to the point they can't play or a school have to go through something like this.....

Re: OVC WK5 (1-3) Ironton @ (2-2) South Point
The median age in Ironton = 41 years old. Ironton currently grades out at a D+ in housing. The # of owner occupied homes in Ironton is around 5 % lower than average. Average income = 20,300.00 - thats about the same as a full time retail employee. 4.5% unemployment rate. You grade out at a C on job...

In all seriousness, I've heard from very reliable sources that Mark Snyder is very interested in coming home to Ironton to coach. Stay Tuned Folks....
