Re: Privt and open enrollment schools win all of the titles
I don't think soccer will become a spring sport for Ohio high schools but it wouldn't be inconceivable. If I had to choose between going to a football game or a soccer match, I would choose soccer every time. I grew up in rural SE OH and left the area in '84 after college. Soccer in America has come...

Re: Privt and open enrollment schools win all of the titles
http://awesomegifs.com/wp-content/uploads/dead-horse.gif It aint dead yet!!! BTW, was looking at a Yappi football subject about the MAC conference football dynasty. And they talked about the private school vs the MAC. MAC is pretty dominate. But one guy posted about MAC soccer teams. So I investiga...

Re: Privt and open enrollment schools win all of the titles
"Along with having to post on the OHSAA site where a transfer comes from, I also think that private schools/Catholic schools should have to post what religion the transfer is. I would bet 90% of them would not be Catholic. Just my guess." This is from the mind of the esteemed newarkcatholi...

Re: Privt and open enrollment schools win all of the titles
Privates account for 8% of the schools and have 50% of the titles. Catholic student sections never look like the product on the field Great point on the student section. La Salle nor St. Ed's crowd remotely resembled the football teams. Not sure about he open enrollment schools. Great point on the ...

Re: bishop Hartley state semi.
newarkcatholicfan, I intended to comment about, “Really the race card?â€, but it seems to have disappeared. I don’t know what motivates you to make comments about Hartley. All I know is that it is consistent and tiresome across multiple message boards. I don’t know if you are a racist or not....

Re: bishop Hartley state semi.
Could you or FC Fan remind us about the racial aspect of the voucher program. You know, how it favors minorities. That's really the tub for you isn't it. You should call Mike Winters and voice your concern about educating under privileged students. You wouldn't want to call Brad Burchfield. Why did...

It was a good game. Losing Zang and Washington last week hurt. CCC could give Coldwater a good game.

Re: Wheelersburg vs Bishop Hartley week #13 Region 17 Final
You will need to watch the clip for yourself. I don't remember the ball being a perfect spiral but it did cover 40+ yards. There was good coverage and an interference call there would have been a travesty. Burg played a near perfect game offensively and played tough D. Hartley found a way in the sec...

Re: Wheelersburg vs Bishop Hartley week #13 Region 17 Final
Clip 181 was the tipped pass. The referee was standing at the 21 yard line and the ball was released at the 31. He had a prefect view of the play. #11 came on a blitz and must have grazed the ball as it came out of the QB's hand. The ball was well over thrown. The official who threw the flag should ...

As I recall most starters were out with around 8 minutes to play. #20 took one to the house with 4+ remaining. #2 didn't dress for St. C. Good luck.

Humility is a strength not a weakness. I'm surprised to see #21 on the field late in games that were not close.

What was your week 5 prediction? The loss of #21 won't help your chances of being right on this one. He was really good player on both sides of the ball and on special teams.Jolly P(irate) wrote:Burg wins and it will be no upset. Burg is the real deal and they are ready to play. Last one to leave, get the lights.

Re: #4 Athens (12-0) vs #7 DeSales (10-2)
Stats are always interesting but it's also important to look at the relative difficulty in building them up. Overall strength of schedule rankings: DeSales #110 Athens #463 Tri-Valley #295 This game will be a good one on a cold night. It's usually good to have a strong ground game this time of year.

Re: Wheelersburg vs Bishop Hartley week #13 Region 17 Final
No one should question the Pirates toughness, heart or pride. I don't think that will be lacking on the other side either. I saw a comment earlier about the "all star team". That's nothing new and it's complimentary as far as I'm concerned. What I think is impressive is Hartley has had thr...

Re: Wheelersburg vs Bishop Hartley week #13 Region 17 Final
The Pirates absolutely have a chance to win this game. It would be an upset but upsets happen all the time. I don't see Hartley taking the Pirates lightly because they are a good team and Hartley takes no team lightly. Hartley has lost 6 games over the past 4 seasons. Here's the list: 2011 - Kenton ...

Re: Is Bishop Hartley a better team this year than last?
Nice wins by DeSales, Beechcroft and Bishop Luers last night. Of the 6 playoff opponents Hartley played in the regular season, only Marion Franklin failed to advance so far.
