Re: Division 7 region 25
Caldwell lost exactly 1 starter (all ohio punter/tight end Tanner Baker who was hurt on the first possession against Trimble and didn't return) from last years 11-1 team that lost 14-10 to Trimble on a score with 9 seconds to go on 4th and goal from the 8 yard line. They were stopped on the goal lin...

Re: WAVERLY FOOTBALL
Caldwell is DVII. They went 11-1 last year, beat Harvest Prep 50-21 in the first round and lost on the last play to Trimble in round 2 of the playoffs 14-10, a game they controlled for the majority of the time. They lost 5 seniors, 2 who started, they are loaded this year. This game is at Caldwell, ...

Re: Will any Pink Floyd's projections make it to The Shott ?
I've seen a lot of the better teams in the state this year in several divisions, some observations: DIV: Harvest prep is better than last years final four team, IMO they are the favorite to win the state title unless Africentric knocks them off in the regional. They are better than Tri-Village, IMO ...

Re: Caldwell Redskins Holiday Hoops Classic
PVC, Tanner Clark tore ligaments in his ankle against Fort Frye during football season.
Coach Duck, my brother says the same about you. I'll be there scouting The Big Red for Cambridge, good luck next week.

Re: Caldwell Redskins Holiday Hoops Classic
New Lex is without their best player for the year, sophomore Luke Barnette has a back injury and won't play. New Lex has lost 80-48 to Sheridan, 61-48 to Fairfield Union, and 70-12 to Tri-Valley (a game they were literally down 37-0 at halftime in and 60-2 through three quarters. They have returning...

Re: #2 Trimble (11-0) vs #3 Caldwell (11-0) - week 12
Will be a good game, Trimble is the favorite but they will def have to play well to win. Caldwell is young, almost all juniors and sophomores but they will compete. There will be no better athlete on the field then Tanner Clark, the redskins run first quarterback.

Re: Greg Frey's State Championships and Mr. Football Predict
Marion Local beat Coldwater 20-0 this year, Coldwater is the favorite to repeat in D5. Last year they hung over 40 on Coldwater in a blow out. I would not be scared to say that Marion Local would have as good a shot as any in any division 2 through 7. They will simply roll through the playoffs inclu...

Re: Week 11: #6 Harvest Prep @ #3 Caldwell
Clark is back to 100% for Caldwell. This will be a power running game against a spread it out speed ground attack. If Caldwell limits big plays and controls the ball they will win going away. Harvest Prep has the big play threats to pull the upset. This along with the Paint Valley/T.C.C. game should...

Re: Region 9 - Who will win the Regional Championship?
Three horse race between Athens, Tri-Valley, and DeSales. The first two, IMO, are the two best teams in the region, both capable of winning a state title. Both return basically their entire teams in tact from the second round game a year ago in which Athens won it in the last moments 55-52. Tri-Vall...

Re: Monroe Central (6-2) @ Frontier (6-2)
It could be a completely different ball game but the fact remains when they played in Woodsfield Caldwell won. In that game they literally doubled Monroe in total yards, they also quadrupled them at the minimum in penalty yards that weren't necessary. Circosta did a great job keeping them in the gam...

Re: Week8:Trimble (7-0) vs Eastern (4-3)
Danville got hammered by Crooksville and has no prayer in hell of beating Loudonville, 6-4 isn't letting them in this thing. More than likely Trimble is the top seed, Shadyside 2nd despite only playing 9 games, Caldwell third with a 10-0 record then Paint Valley bringing up the 4 spot. Nobody outsid...

Re: Week 6: Athens (5-0) @ Steubenville (4-1)
Big Red at Death Valley is essentially like starting in a 14 point hole. I think Athens is much better. I look back to last fall when Maysville was a missed field goal from beating them in the playoffs and Athens would do unspeakable things to Maysville. I think/hope Athens takes it 42-28.
Re: PVC
You were out gained nearly 3-1 on your home field. You have a great coach and a terrific back. Central owned the third quarter, Caldwell the other three. You lost. That is the only thing that matters. Any non-biased observer will tell you the better and more talented team won, you did well to put yo...

Re: Week 6: Athens (5-0) @ Steubenville (4-1)
I really, really hope Athens wins as a Sheridan fan. That said, to predict a state title is pretty arrogant, especially considering that in your own region is a Tri-Valley team that lost exactly one contributor (a lineman) off of a team that you beat 55-52 in the second round of the playoffs last ye...

Re: Peebles vs. Africentric Regional Semi 3/11
There is no real solution to the private v. public debate. Some private schools (Bellaire St. Johns, Ironton St. Joe for example) aren't athletic recruiting powerhouses and don't intend to be. I'm sure there are numerous private schools that are not. There are also some that are given an unfair adva...

Re: Eastern (24-1) vs Newark Catholic (25-2)
This was a great game to watch. I'm a Sheridan graduate (the school Parkinson was poached from after her freshman year lol) she is a terrific player. These were two great teams. Could the outcome have been different with Parkinson on the floor? Certainly, but it wasn't. Three of her fouls were legit...

Re: PVC 2014 (Tournament Update)
Watching my brother's team this winter, I think the opposite guru. Caldwell is much better against teams that pressure them and play man to man because they have good guard play. Teams that grind them and play really good, disciplined half court basketball give them a harder time. I know he didn't w...

Re: DII LOGAN SECTIONAL RESULTS
Wow, can't believe the lack of chatter from people after last night. Elm gets ripped apart for losing to a very good opponent Bloom Carroll in their fourth game in a week without their best player. Why is nobody talking about Warren struggling with a terrible New Lex team last night? was 49-46 with ...

Running thread and discussion on this. One of the best DII sectionals anywhere. Current records: 1. Logan Elm (13-1) 2. Warren Local (11-3) 3. Athens (11-3) 4. Sheridan (9-4) 5. Vinton County (7-5) 6. Meigs (6-4) 7. Marietta (6-6) 8. Fairfield Union (5-8) 9. New Lex (4-8) The top three are all scary...
