Re: Portsmouth Trojan Baseball 2012

Dave Shoupe is the head coach. Sam McGraw is his father-in-law. Jeff Ramey is an assistant coach. Didn't have all the info I guess. While I was in town I saw a game at the new field. Seemed to me as if SAM was calling all the shots! Also Randy Nelson was coaching 1st base. So i guess it's safe to a...

Re: Senators 2012

Who state this year? What did they do? Kirtland won in a power I and threw the ball prob. three times. Ask Portsmouth and see if they like their spread. 2-8 and 3-7 with very good players. If Ports. ran a power offense, they would have went at least 6-4.....in my opinion. Just change the offense, b...

Re: Someone HAS to win...Chillicothe at Portsmouth

:122246 From the Chillicothe Gazette CHILLICOTHE -- The Chillicothe Cavaliers entered this football season knowing they would have to rely on plenty of younger players on the varsity roster. That need, coupled with injuries that have resulted in more junior varsity players than expected being neede...

Re: Wheelersburg @ Portsmouth week 3

If you read what I posted, I said “ no you don’t have to be huge to play offensive line well, but it makes it a lot easier”. Right now we don’t have a lot of experience or athleticism on the line, then couple that with being small and it is a recipe for disaster. The boys have a will to win...

Re: Wheelersburg @ Portsmouth week 3

Discipline, community/parent involvement, teamwork, coaching, and the drive to win are what set these teams apart...so much talk about the coaching, but when it comes down to it, its the players' responsibility to step up and win ballgames...even with a bad coach, the players are the ones who had f...

Re: Wheelersburg @ Portsmouth week 3

Below you will find the coaches and winning percentages for the last 55 years of Portsmouth football. Clifford has a better percentage then all of them including West new coach Shaffer. Just an example that PHS is and always has been a place that’s hard to win at. We have several factors that att...

Re: Wheelersburg @ Portsmouth week 3

If a team isn't fundamentally sound then that's a coaching problem. I don't give a darn if you get beat by 60, by better athletes, but I do give a darn when a team can't block and tackle or they are making a ton of boneheaded errors. It's a sure sign a team lacks discipline and coaching. IF THE BAB...

Re: Portsmouth Trojans Football 2011

There has been plenty of talent to come through Portsmouth over the years. It's the coaches job to develop this talent and adapt a system to best develop the talent on hand. Maybe it's time to look at the HC. Change can be a good thing!

I like this kids game, always plays down hill. However how is Portsmouth constantly turning out DI players and yet be so bad? I think it is called "coaching"!!!! Loooong overdue for a change!

Re: SOC2 Lucasville Valley (7-0) vs. Portsmouth West (7-0)

Let it go folks; this is why you play the game. Lost leader the problem? Last year Valley's fullback/linebacker/team leader was taken out by West in the very first offensive drive and Valley went on to win; so what does that have to do with who wins and who doesn't unless your claim is that West is...

Josh Myers is injured. I was told he has an injury to his lower leg which occurred in the Wilmington game. It has to be treated as a stress fracture. He could be out indefinately. :122247
