This is nothing new. It has been like this for years. Typically the games get pushed back to 1 or later.

This is a step in the right direction, as Division 1 was much too large from the biggest schools to the smaller schools in it.

Sounds like to me they should have upgraded the out of conference schedule as it didn't prepare them for a tough conference.
