Karl,
I'm still alive and well. Every once in a great while something sparks my curiosity on here. I'll go back to sleep now.

Re: Point Pleasant (WV)'s Allan Wasonga named "Overall MVP"
I have heard about how fast Wasonga is suppose to be. Do you happen to know what his 40Y or 100M time is? I have also heard that PP is going to very talented overall this year. Given the fact that GAHS seems to be down in talent compared to recent years, this could be the year for PP to knock down t...

Re: South Gallia Football 2008
The wives of men who volunteer their time to coach HS football would be very special women, and they would be very lucky men. I cannot for the life of me, figure out how anyone, especially a coaches wife, could consider that post to be offensive or demeaning. Coaching football is a VERY time consum...

Re: Has anything been done at River Valley?
I know if a certain person gets the job that he will go with an offensive system that the kids can execute effectively. Too many coaches out there try to make their offense multiple and execution suffers as a result.

Re: Who is the best running back from SEO in the last 5 years?
Dewey Cantrell and Derek Beaver of South Gallia would have to be included. During their senior season (2006) they led SG to their best record in school history (8-3). This was the young program's 2nd straight trip to the post season. Cantrell and Beaver were both probably 150 lbs. soaking wet but th...

Re: Why hasnt Shawnee State started football?
The fact that SSU and URG don't have football is a joke! I have recently heard faculty members at URG complain about the small population of students who reside on campus in Rio Grande. One way to boost the number of on-campus students would be to start a football program. I have heard all the tired...

Re: Triple option teams in Ohio
First of all, the term "spread" is used very loosely and is a very vague term to use when describing an offense. That is why I stated that I was talking about a Spread Passing attack. You wrote: "its not skill positions that determine that" Are you implying that you do not need t...

Re: Triple option teams in Ohio
Lets send this old dog back to the top to see if we can generate any discussion. What offensive systems out there can give a team a chance to win even when they have little talent? Split Back Veer (Houston, Carson Newman) Flexbone Triple (Navy, Georgia Southern) Wing-T (Deleware) Double Wing (Wyatt,...

Re: Old fashion football
ddavis, I am certainly not questioning your coaching logic as one would be foolish to do so based on your experience and success. I have already stated that I agree with your logic concerning making adjustments based on the talent that you have available to you. Again, my only point is that IMO runn...

Re: Old fashion football
IMO being able to make adjustments within your SYSTEM to fit your talent is the key to success. Learning an offensive system inside and out and thus getting it ingrained in their minds will allow kids the best possible chance to be successful at what they are doing. Making adjustments to your offens...

Are you leaning back towards the wing? I thought you had done went flexbone on us, especially considering that pretty little avatar you have there.

With that much time remaining simply run the veer until you score. Remember, if you execute they CAN'T stop it, only you can with penalties and turnovers.
