Re: Ironton 2013-2014 Roster and Schedule
they poured it on tonight in the 2nd half think the final was 53-35 something like that !! a lot of subs in and out so they look to have depth!!! I couldn't get a good read on them if good or st joe is bad or combination of both!! I agree that both coaches were working on their teams and that winni...

Re: Ironton 2013-2014 Roster and Schedule
I witnessed a game that was dead even for three quarters (as indicated by the play and the score). The St. Joe coach elected to bench four of his starters in the 4th quarter to let some freshmen get some playing time. Ironton's coached elected to play his 1st string and press. He was screaming at hi...

I think Tenn will wear the Buckeyes six man rotation down.
Have you watched any of these tournament games. There are so many TV timeouts, the teams hardly break a sweat. If Tennessee wins, it won't be because of fatigue.

Re: Any top middle school teams that want a quality game???
whats the number of games you can play in one season ? If you play in WV under the WVSSAC you are limited to 20 games, but we are not in that so we are not limited to any rules. But as of right now our team will be under 20 games that is why I'm trying to get more now. Why would any school team pla...

Tell him to stay the heck out of Ohio. There are 49 other states (and the District of Columbia) he can recruit.

Re: ST. JOE AT ROCKHILL 12/8
Just kind of curious....will Rock Hill ever consider stepping up their competition? I'm not trying to get on them, but they are a pretty good sized school, but they continue to play St. Joe?? This is a good friendly competition between two local schools. Generally, these games are pretty close. Roc...

Ironton 8th grade- loaded Did Ironton have receive some transfers? If not, they are not exactly loaded. They have one very good player and several pretty good players. This class has lost several players (due to transfers, etc.) that has prevented it from being "loaded". With good coachin...

You got it! When that Davies fellow had his car accident, they needed a replacement. The obvious choice was "McSoccer" from Ironton, Ohio.

Re: 2009 St. Joseph Junior Flyers Soccer
Lloyd is a little too old for them to offer any kind of long term contract. However, the buzz was pretty strong about "R. McG" approaching the prime of his career. I expect you will see a write-up in the Ironton Tribune about his future in soccer real soon. As a matter of fact, I just saw ...

[quote="Mouth's Better Half"]My first game was OSU vs. Minnesota at Ohio State. I forget what year but after OSU won the students stormed the field and tore down the goal posts. It was scary.
Minnesota? What year was that? Did they have wooden goal posts back in those days?

I wouldn't get too excited there Runner00. Neither of these kids are playing soccer, and I doubt their transfer to St. Joe will affect the balance of power in basketball in the OHSAA. Also, if you read the above posts you will notice that the transfers have more to do with academics than sports.

I know you are a big fan of the kick ball game. As a matter of fact, John Schwab still refers to the years that Pocket Aces coached soccer as the "Golden Years" of Ironton soccer.

Re: St. Joe Basketball
Have the potential transfers registered for school at St. Joe? If so, soccer practice has started. This would be a great way for these kids to get to know their new classmates in a setting outside the classroom. Also, the team would be much better off if they participated.
