Here's an interesting video of the installation of Fieldturf at Notre Dame Stadium. Not scheduled to be completed until Aug. 15th, but entertaining just the same.

Re: Ironton Turf project has started
I'm anxious to see how the rubber "padding" is installed. I see its all ready to go in large bags on the parking lot. They must vibrate it into the turf somehow. I'll soon see I guess. The do this to put the pellets down http://www.sportsfieldmanagementmagazine.com/content/SM/2011/03/A658...

Re: Thoughts on site for Ironton vs. Johnstown-Monroe
I dunno about that....Tank looked kinda sparse tonite. 2000 maybe.......lotta empty seats on the home side! A far cry from what I'm used to.readn,writn,&rt243 wrote:Just trying to guess where this one will be played. I am betting it is closer to J-M because the OHSAA knows the Tiger faithful will travel.

Motorcycle Mechanic
I'm looking for a good motorcycle mechanic. I have a sick Honda 1300VTX. It has a hole in the crankcase where the oil filter "used" to be. It will need the left side of the case, I believe the right side is intact but not 100% sure. I would also consider selling this bike as is to someone ...

Electric cars (and motorcycles) are in their infancy!!! I like the idea and hope this technology rapidly progresses!

Re: Cell Phones & GPS
Keeping tabs on a piece of equipment is one thing.....people are a different matter altogether. I can understand a company wanting to keep tabs on their property, like a truck or something, but when they invite you to give up your personal phone (saving you a little money) and use theirs, well, I be...

Cell Phones & GPS
I have reciently been required by my employer to carry a "company" cell phone. I have also discovered that my supervisor has an "app" on his smart phone that allows one to know the whereabouts of another through GPS technology. I have heard about this technology and where a man i...

I just can't believe that even the OHSAA would expect Beallsville to travel all the way to Coal Grove! 192 miles vs. 16!!!! Although, come to think of it, they sent a Cincinnati team to play Ironton in Portsmouth back in '99. So I guess there is a precedent.

Even though my comment was "tongue-in-cheek", isn't it sad that we fans from Ironton have come to expect such treatment from the OHSAA!tk421 wrote:That's more likely, probably.TheToe wrote:More likely Lancaster or Groveport!!!!!!

Re: Regional Final D4 R15: #1 Ironton vs. #3 Hartley at Loga
It looks like Oak Hill got a longer commute too! I don't know, somethimes I think we here in the southeast part of the state have made our own beds with all of our moaning and groaning about playoff sites. I don't know about anybody else, but I've come to expect this kind of treatment. I will admit,...

Sorry but I gotta disagree with ya on this one Kantuck! As much as I enjoy Jason and Kevin, my vote has to go with Rick Charles.
Someone needs to enlighten J&K in the use of the "Curt Gowdy egg timer"! You know of what I speak, don't ya Ricki!!!

Re: D4 - R15: (3) Heath vs. (2) Ironton @ Nelsonville York
I'm guessing the Regional Championship game will be in......drum roll please........Lancaster!!! Athens would be perfect, as far as travel is concerned, but OU has a 2pm game on the 21st. Zanesville would be just TOO unfair for the Ironton faithful (even for the OHSAA)! Nelsonville is probably just ...

Re: Michigan v. ND
I hope Michigan knows how fortunate they are. Very POOR play calling by Weis on ND's last possion. They could have easily eaten up another minute with two runs instead of throwing the home run ball which put them in a must pass situation. Also, a very poor punt, ya gotta be clutch in those situation...
