Re: Future of Southeastern Ohio football
Burg won it in 89. I would say in 3 year's Burg will make a huge push for the State finals. That class looks pretty solid and could have quite a few 3 year starters. The key to success is the strength of the program. I think you guys are well positioned now. The coach is paramount to winning, and y...

Re: Future of Southeastern Ohio football
Lutz retired. Hartley was nothing for decades, and then hired a new coach who won a title in his second year with kids he didn't "recruit." It's a mix of elements, and coaching is one of the big ones. You're Tiger Bait wrote:ironton was in that mix for decades----------but things have changed.

Re: Privt and open enrollment schools win all of the titles
La Salle nor St. Ed's crowd remotely resembled the football teams. Maybe all the other black kids were working hard in basketball practice since there's no other possible reason for black people to be at an expensive private school. I roll coal and spit my chew ever time I drive past one of them Ca...

Re: Privt and open enrollment schools win all of the titles
Catholic student sections never look like the product on the field Translation: I live in an area that is historically and presently hostile to African Americans, and I'm bitter that the best we can do is to field an all white team that has spent a ton of time lifting so that we can hit hard and ho...

Re: Privt and open enrollment schools win all of the titles
How long until the regular public schools start crying this is not fair we want our own playoffs. 25 years ago. I started hearing and reading this back when my neighbor Chuck Kemper won his third straight title at Wehrle. The editorial pages were full of that talk. Opposing coaches were pretty voca...

No matter how it ends, Athens needs to take a long shower after this game because TCC sure plays dirty.

All the Catholic teams! Go Fish! Too bad they're both Catholic schools in four of the games.

Re: Private schools/Public schools/open enrollment public
Did Lebrons mom pay his tuition ? Would the person who did pay for his and the other guys from his AAU team hesitate to pay for their tuition for 7th and 8th grade at the designated Catholic feeder school also? The CBP system outlines the system for beating itself. For those who cheat, it's a minor...

Re: Private schools/Public schools/open enrollment public
I like your idea of bumping the small private schools that are not rural up - this would affect Africentric, Harvest Prep, Cleveland VASJ among others up. Portsmouth N.D. and Rosecrans would stay, NC would likely move to d6 and FC could as well. I don't think they have published the full details ye...

Re: Private schools/Public schools/open enrollment public
Yet St. Charles is BY FAR the worst football program in the group. Correct. That proves two points. Geography doesn't matter at all. And divisions based on enrollment can only do so much to assure equal competition. Good coaching, hard work, and community support is what creates disparity in compet...

How about you post my full comment Seems like a waste of storage space on the server. It's only necessary to quote enough so that other readers know about which other post that I'm commenting. Re: Private schools/Public schools/open enrollment public
Catholic schools do have one clear advantage over public schools. And I've got no problem accounting for it. Private schools don't get dropouts, burnouts, or attendees. If the public schools are willing to publish their numbers for those categories of kids, I'm perfectly willing to give them a subtr...

I'm pretty sure she is the benevolent dictator of the place as are most Columbus Diocese principals, pending whatever change hasn't happened yet (if any) with the new su...

Re: Private schools/Public schools/open enrollment public
Now let's take Africentric, which can draw from the entire city of Columbus. They are having a new palace constructed on the grounds of the city's scariest housing project back in the 80s/90s. Police called it Uzi Alley. I am guessing that they will have the finest athletic facilities in Columbus. ...

I do find it funny teams call us hillbillies since Athens is known for higher education It's all relative. If you're a left or right coast snob, everything in between is farm land except for Chicago. If you're from Chicago, you add another 40-50 flyover cities with major league sports teams, everyt...
