Re: Bill Stewart Out at WVU!
College football roundtable... Will Bill Stewart's departure derail West Virginia? http://collegefootball.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1230555 After watching some of the players interviewed today, I think it will hurt WVU. After all these players were recruited by Bill Stewart. Some of the players di...

Re: SHOULD THE BIG EAST BE KNOCKED OUT OF THE BCS AUTO BID?
Here is the WVU Pro Combat Uni: http://assets.sbnation.com/assets/429769/P1000563.JPG If you were going to go alternate retro for WVU and you wanted to do something really interesting, you'd almost have to go beyond the Nehlen era since the helmets have been the same since Nehlen took over and the r...

Re: The state of ND football.
Dantonio is a product of the Big 10, he's done well because he has an understanding of Big 10 football, not because of his success at UC. Patrino can call an air attack, but what else does he have. Middle of the pack SEC doesn't make you a success. That said, those are the only two examples? Case c...

Re: The state of WVU Football
Please, no Mike Leach or any of the Bowdens. Not real keen on how Graham left Rice for Tulsa. Signed an extension with a hefty pay raise and then a couple of days later took a job at Tulsa. Not sure how much "WV ties" are going to matter this time around...but, Graham coached here under R...

Re: The state of WVU Football
I agree with 99% of what you say, however, it was a knee jerk hire. I will have my masters in athletic administration in two months and first thing I can tell you after studying countless hires, is that the Stewart hire was as knee jerk as knee jerk can be. How was BS at all qualified to be the hea...

Re: The state of WVU Football
The Rich Rod debacle had a lot to do with poor leadership from the administration. They hired Stewart after a knee jerk reaction following a big win. A monkey could have coached that game and WVU would have played with just as much emotion. I disagree that the next hire will come from inside. Next ...

Re: Michigan Football
YOu asked a question and I gave you an answer. He threw a single bubble screen the entire game. If you don't watch the MIchigan games, how in the world can you have an opinion on them. This is not WVU, so it doesn't matter how many games you have seen them play. Like I said, your opinion is dead if...

Re: Marshall vs. #23 WVU
population of AA is 114,000, Metro Morgantown is 118,000. Just saying. Only people to blame are the fans. That's two counties combined...if we're going to do that than we have to add Detroit to the Ann Arbor population - cuz the population of Morgantown in only 26,000. Washtenaw County Michigan has...

Re: Marshall vs. #23 WVU
I still don't think your analogy is accurate. 1 million are in Detriot, so that leaves another million to cover the entire state. Like I said, there are 5 d1 programs, there are a lot of Toledo, OSU, and Notre Dame alums in Michigan as well. I promise I am not painting any picture of your fan base....

Re: Marshall vs. #23 WVU
HD, You have great information and I appreciate your opinion. I agree with a good deal of it. One problem. The Michigan is bigger comment. Michigan also has 5 d1 programs in the state. So I don't feel your analogy on that computes. Peake - even with 5 DI programs - Michigan still has 2 million peop...

Re: Marshall vs. #23 WVU
Of the 6 BCS conferences, the Big East is #6. If we throw in the Mountain West, the Big East would likely fall to 7th. This year the Big East is currently 6th - in both RPI and Sagarin the Big East has been higher than 6th in the last 5 years - and these rankings include the Mountain West (as well ...

Re: Marshall vs. #23 WVU
WVU plays in the weakest of weak conferences that are considered FBS. You see this is why your opinion is dirt. Ah now Peake, that is a popular opinion, but not one that really plays out well. (Although the way things are going, it might this year) Looking at RPI rankings - the Big East has been in...

Re: Marshall vs. #23 WVU
That is fine that people don't see Marshall as a rival, but it would be better if they did. It would be better if you wanted Marshall to be a top 25 program. Alabama-Auburn, Georgia-Georgia Tech, Florida-FSU, Arizona-ASU, Michigan-MSU, Virginia-VT, UK-Louisville, are all better off because they pla...

Re: Marshall vs. #23 WVU
Thank you Dubs I thought I was starting to lose my mind there for a second lol. Here is my advice to WVU fans that are thumbing their nose and not going to the game because they feel they are better then Marshall. Go to the freaking game! Michigan has no problems putting 112,000 in their stadium wh...

Re: Marshall Football 2010
Kids in Raleigh aren't being exposed to culture any more than kids in Morgantown because that really depends upon the parents more than the town (if it is available). Now, with regard to people from other cultures, I don't think my kids are lacking in exposure given the university and the research ...

Re: Marshall Football 2010
Hey Peake, I forgot to say, I do totally understand your argument about the merits of the Triangle. I said many of the exact same things either in defense of our move there or to my friends who were thinking of moving there. When we moved back to Morgantown it was to finish my doctorate, and with th...

Re: Marshall Football 2010
I have been to Morgantown enough and had enough friends who have lived and went to school there to know that if given the choice between living in a city that offers 10x more then Morgantown I would choose that other city. Cities that shutdown at 5 on fridays? I very much enjoy the night life in th...

Re: Marshall Football 2010
no offense but if u choose morgantown over raleigh then you should have your head checked. If you are basing this on economey then there is no comparison between a coal producing city vs the research triangle. Why would u not want your kid exposed to the diversity in raleigh v mor Peake, first off ...
