Re: Has Championship Saturday lost its luster?
You are 100% correct, the amount of teams that get out makes for a little less competitive games. DivIII and DivIV both got an extra team out than normal. The one thing I do like about it is that more kids get the opportunity to win a district title.

Re: Division IV District Player of the Year, Blevins or Cox?
I think Southern State is where Cox is headed to college. I havent heard anything about Blevins. the michaels boy said he is going to UC clearmont or Southern State. Who knows maybe all 3 will end up together at one of those schools. It would be nice for the average SHL fan that wants to keep watchi...

Re: Has Championship Saturday lost its luster?
How can you change the seedings once they reach the Convo? There are always going to be upsets, and every game gives a chance of a mismatch. As for the games being competitive, I didn't see any team win by 25. Nor did any team have a 20pt lead for most of there game. Just because every game isn't a ...

Re: Division IV District Player of the Year, Blevins or Cox?
I'll agree... Today in the first 2 games we saw 4-5 post players that are 6'3'' or bigger, and of all of them I think he played the least D. IMO in the 2nd game the Michaels boy showed how to play D for a big man. He was everywhere getting rebounds and steals while still playing against a 6'7'' kid....

Re: Division IV District Player of the Year, Blevins or Cox?
Cox cost his team a chance to win the District today with his technical foul at the 2:01 mark of the 4th quarter. Without him, Fairfield wouldn't have been in that situation obviously but others (Scott & Combs) would not have done something so regrettable. After watching Cox today, I was impres...

Re: South Webster Jeeps vs Leesburg Fairfield 3-12-2011
Well said overthetop, as a non-partisan fan watching I told the guys I was with at the start of the 4th Q after Fairfield played a great 3rd that SW would win because they were more disciplined and better coached and sure enough it held serve. When talent is relatively similar, coaching and preparat...

Re: Whiteoak vs Manchester
I didnt mean to put blevins down... i apoligize. Those are good numbers to average, however I have watched him play at least 6 times this year, all against good quality teams and I'm not sure that I've seen him get 10 rbs in a game yet. It's almost like he seems timid during the big games to bang an...

Re: Whiteoak vs Manchester
Combs was on fire all game. I can see how he won the POY over Blevins now. Whiteoak didn't have size to compete (yes i know they beat Man earlier) to many second chance points for Manchester I think WO had enough size to compete. I didnt see the big kid for manchester snaching rebound after rebound...

Re: Whiteoak vs Manchester
I'm pretty torn about it.... We are pretty familiar with fairfield, but Blevins does have a little trouble with cox at times......it's sad that both our teams have to travel this far, and in your case, this early in the morning.....I do hope the trip for your team doesn't affect their play I didnt ...

Re: Whiteoak vs Manchester
Manchester beat whiteoak at home easily....... Yes, they lost at whiteoak, but coach got a hair up his butt and benched our pg early ( cause he scored twice in a row!!!!) said it wasn't his job to score?? And we had 3 starters foul out..... Not making excuses for losing, just giving a reference for...

Re: District Semi - Whiteoak vs. South Gallia
Great game by the Wildcats. "jumpin" joe, and "the Doctor, both played very well tonight. There were other players that contibuted a lot as well. Keep the ball rolling, and get another win. Congrats to the SHL, 3 teams in the district finals. I think that says a lot. The only downfall...

Re: GREEN vs WHITEOAK
I can't see how you can win a game in Double OT and say that shows that one league is tougher than the other. Not very smart logic. Green could have easily won that game in the first OT, and only a fool would have got on here and said that proves the SOC is a tougher league. I guess I just answered...

Re: GREEN vs WHITEOAK
Im 100% with "theuglytruth" the kid got a T for stomping on a WO player chest... As for whiteoak not wanting to play a physical game, it seems to me everygame they are in is a physical game. Huh, sounds like they wanna play that way. If there wasn't 15 charges called against WO I would be ...

Re: How good is whiteoak?
I believe since 96 there has been at least one, sometimes two, sometimes both a Barnett or Michael playing for Whiteoak. Whiteoak has had a lot of good teams in the past and I believe they have played Green 3 times, all in the tourney. I was looking for old scores and couldn't find all of them, but ...

Re: Blake Justice 2000pts
His last two games(86 combined pts) has put him above notables OJ Mayo(NBA), Daequan Cook(NBA), and Nick Aldridge(Western Carolina..one of the southeast's all time greats) on the state's all-time scoring list. Tribe, while this is true, Mayo only played 3 yrs of ohio basketball AND all these player...

Re: Southeast District D4 Rankings 2-9-11
a_c_m, The SHL people do not always complain. We know that the SOC has to play eachother every year in the first round. Thats because there are 7 or 8 teams in the same sectional. We just get tired of the SOC coaches always pairing 2 of the 3 SHL teams together in the first round. They ALWAYS do tha...

Re: RIPLEY@PEEBLES?
This was a well played game by both teams. It felt to me like they didn't let the guards from ripley play as physical as they let the guards from peebles play. Lots of touch fouls for ripley. Dont get me wrong, peebles guards played a lot better overall. The big kid for peebles wa the difference in ...

Re: Whiteoak vs. North Adams
The game was a good game. Well officiated, well coached and well played from both sides. North Adams just got the best of Whiteoak on friday. Good game to all the kids. Good luck in the tournament
