was supposed to have been played at Marietta, but Vinton Co. had some sort of problem and could not travel, so Marietta went there. One umpire.

New Philly is very well coached but very beatable. New Philly shoots 3s and lay-ups in that order, with only an occasional mid range thrown in. My understanding is yes, you have to win the event to be all-league in an individual event. I am not sure if winners of relay events are all-league.

Marietta High School is going. Paige Grosel won pole vault last year (10' 6") as a sophmore and will be competing again that event.

I was told Chilli Marietta game is a suspended game - Marietta will have to return to Chilli to finish it.

Marietta went up to Maysville and both the boys and girls won.

Shadyside won. Not sure of score, but at one point in the second quarter it was 33 - 10 in favor of Shadyside.

The Marietta/Parkersburg game was very interesting. Parkersburg (ranked #9 in WV big school division) came out on fire and very aggressive and were winning 12-3 and 21-9. Marietta led 15 - 9 after 1, 23 - 16 at half, and 36 - 34 after 3.

Marietta JV won by 10 or 12

Warren Freshmen won by 12 or 14.

Athens scored 5 in the first quarter and 4 in the 4th quarter. Athens hit a bunch of 3s - seemed like 10 again - but went cold in the 4th quarter. It was 42 38 Marietta at end of third quarter

Marietta won JV and Freshman games as well.

Marietta plays good team ball at times and are good when they do. A lot of players will be involved tonight for Marietta and I bet the game will come down to the wire. Athens shot well at Marietta and are playing at home. It should be a good game.
