Re: Miller Basketball
Back to the actual team, I think they'll be in a fight for fifth in the TVC. Miller always plays hard and can pull off an upset, but I think they will struggle against teams such as Belpre and S.G. Never know with Trimble, Waterford or Southern. They should win all of their non conference games: Mil...

Re: D3 State final Athens vs Toledo Central Catholic Thurs 7
Fun fact: Athens County had more final four participants and state finals qualifiers than Franklin County.
How's that for TVC ball?

How about you post my full comment Seems like a waste of storage space on the server. It's only necessary to quote enough so that other readers know about which other post that I'm commenting. People can scroll. Anyway, I don't buy the geographical argument. Dads put their kids in good programs. Go...

Re: Private schools/Public schools/open enrollment public
I'll leave you guys with this one---since no one is even trying to explain the private school dominance except to give me tradition and elitism (won't take certain types of kids)---tradition comes from winning and recruiting helps with that. FC was used earlier---here's my experience, Trimble was b...

Re: Private schools/Public schools/open enrollment public
How can this be up for argument? You pick your team from the local block, road, or school district----I get to pick kids from the whole city, the whole area, and multiple school districts. Can you win some? Sure. Will I win most of the time? Absolutely. Numbers don't lie----compare the total number...

Re: Private schools/Public schools/open enrollment public
Why didn't we have this discussion when Caldwell thrashed Harvest Prep (which happens to be the school that has been previously busted for recruiting)? Oh wait, we only care when the private schools beat the public schools.

Re: Wheelersburg vs Bishop Hartley week #13 Region 17 Final
I think Burg of all schools would be willing to take on the private schools if afforded an opportunity to. Valley beat Grandview Heights, which is a public school that essentially embodies several characteristics of private schools, such as financial barriers to entry (living in an expensive school ...

Re: Wheelersburg vs Bishop Hartley week #13 Region 17 Final
Now you are correct in the coach to some degree. A winning coach does change the landscape. Kids who live near by that want to play football in a structured environment now can call up the head coach and say I'd like to enroll. My guess is he asks two questions. One, what's your current gpa? Two, w...

Re: With days of SEOAL numbered, Jackson looking for new lea
Jackson (and even Logan) should look at being an MSL affiliate for football only. Logan may have a chance at being a full-fledged member in the MSL for all sports, but Jackson would likely not. At least with football the gates will be huge!

I would have called you crazy for thinking they would only Win that many games this year, But Meigs got some very bad news to start the season. One of the players tore his ACL in the scrimmage Saturday and will miss Basketball and Baseball his Senior Year. Is this what ended up happening? If so, I'...

The coach from Berlin Center WR is a classless asshole, so I'm glad NSP beat them. GL Trimble!
On a side note, I bet now is a really good time to be a proprietor of a charter bus company in Athens County.

Re: #1 Shadyside (11-0) vs #2 Trimble (12-0)
Well first, their are 16 teams in the TVC Second, I'll take 5 out of 16 teams anyway......... You can't say anything positive without adding something negative. I am proud that my school is in the TVC and we are proud of our league! Quit hating on us and just be happy for Trimble and Athens FC Fan....

How about that weak league they call the TVC. 5 teams in the playoffs and now 2 in the final 4. Congrats to the Tomcats And Bulldogs. Way to represent There's good teams that can come from the TVC, but top to bottom it is not an overly competitive conference. 5/17 making the playoffs isn't that imp...

There's no shame to be had in the performance the Pirates turned in tonight. Southern Ohio has to be proud of their boys tonight, despite the outcome.

Re: #4 Athens (12-0) vs #7 DeSales (10-2)
There were a LOT of people rooting for Athens on the SFD visitors side. A couple FC people (myself included) were over there and coming in we didn't have a dog in the fight (no pun intended) but halfway through we decided we wanted to see Athens stick it to the Stallions. I was embarrassed to be a p...
