Re: Waverly vs. Mcclain at southeastern
Irregardless, whether seen as an intentional act or not.....you don't see these types of take downs on the aau circuit or city leagues where dunks are a common form of scoring. The players in those arenas have more respect for the dunker. Kretzers ball was clearly through the rim when this act occur...

Re: Waverly Tigers 2010
Tiger Fans, Thanks for supporting Jake! An agonizing decision on his part that was brought-on by a mild concussion he suffered playing AAU basketball in Orlando. Jake missed 3 games due to this concussion; his second one in a year. Moreover, playing AAU basketball both "with and against the bes...

Re: Waverly Basketball 2010-2011
Here's a thought for everyone to consider. Student-Athletes should just play sports for the enjoyment of it. If they love the game then they should play, be it basketball, football, tennis, soccer, volleyball, or whatever. Because the facts are that a very tiny percentage of kids might, "might&...

Re: Waverly / Oak Hill game still on?
2:00 pm. Just heard that the game is definitely postponed for tonight. OaK Hill in session today; Waverly NOT in session today. Raining now, 39 degrees. Should have been played tonight! Heard that Waverly wanted to play but Oak Hill did not. Of course it's to the Oaks benefit to postpone until Wedne...

Re: Oak Hill @ Waverly 2/5e
I say this all the time, "If the team does what it's supposed to do on the court the refs should NOT even be a factor in the outcome." With that said....Waverly needs to pull-away by at least 12-15 to be safe from the "ref-factor". Norm is the biggest suck-up coach to the Ohio Hi...

Re: Oak Hill @ Waverly 2/5e
Waverly wins 64-39 over West tonight. Looked like Kretzer & Martin gave it up in the first half allowing other teammates to score and gain confidence. Was that in the strategy or game plan? If so, it was genius; the Kids came-off the court smiling and feeling good about themselves. We know Marti...

Re: Waverly vs Valley 1-22-10
It's like this friends.........Waverly will feel the pressure to win "on the road"; but, this is actually Valley's game to lose. Valley is playing at peak level right now; Waverly has lost 2 of last 4 and aren't playing to their potential. So, it looks like the Tigers are the underdogs or ...

Re: Blake Justice
Any thoughts on blake justice from peebles this year? It's true that high school basketball doesn't really mean so much anymore to college recruiting. In order to be seen and recruited by D1 Coaches kids must play AAU abroad. That's where coaches can see how competitors match with like talent. This...

Zollo is in Kentucky....somewhere around Florence, Ky.
Last I heard his stats didn't match what he had done at McClain.
Maybe another blogger can share more on him.
Or,
let's just forget about him....like McClain has.

Re: Who's the real Tigers? McClain vs. Waverly in Sectional dual
I give the edge to the 13-7 SOC Waverly Tigers. Waverly's losses have been to Oak Hill, Valley, Wheelersburg, Piketon and Minford (like to have this one back)....these are ALL elite teams in their own right. Plus Waverly has had huge wins recently over Chillicothe, Vinton County, and Huntington. No ...

Re: Chillicothe @ Waverly on Tuesday 2/17
Wow what a game! I was not rooting for either team but Chilli couldn't catch a break from the refs. I hate to say this but I think there would be a slightly different outcome if it were played at a neutral site. One particular ref, I'm not going to mention his name, in my opinon cost chilli the gam...

Re: Chillicothe @ Waverly on Tuesday 2/17
OK, you all know I'm always the first & last to be critical of officiating....so here goes: For the most part the officials let'em play physical around 8 foot of the rim. Don't think they had much choice in this type of game. On the other hand....lots of unnecessary touch fouls and hand checks t...

Re: Waverly at Valley Friday the 13th
Maybe it's the youngsters' inexperience. Coach Robertson has them playing a mixture of defensive looks....lots of times the Tigers are reacting to being out of position. Let's not forget that this team is formed from a few JV players....some who didn't play last year at all, some who didn't even sta...

Hitchbone, Nice evaluation going-in. Thanks for the input. Tigers too are playing a 7 game 14 night stretch. It's gotta be tough on these kids....late nights +academics. Thank goodness for a day-off school on Monday....much needed R&R for both parties. I'm looking for an explosion of athleticism...
