Jesse Slone of Oak Hill was the National Guard Player of the Week. He was 21-31 for 293 yards and a TD. He intercepted 3 passes on defense, and had over a 40 yard punting average.

First, congrats to East. However, some of you need to understand that while you won, you act like your defense was stellar. The Oaks were able to move the ball. Slone was hardly shut down. He was 21 - 31 for 293 yards and a TD. Again, nice win for East.

A lot of people are predicting an aerial assault from the Oaks on friday, but the Oaks have basically taken the pass out of the offense and went strictly to the run. In the last 2 games, Slone has thrown a total of 8 passes. I just think the Oaks are committed to winning or losing with the run.

Hey wolley, not sure of your sources, but I talked to Jesse's dad, and he said he wasn't aware of any injury. Must be a well kept secret. Also, Derf, the scores actually came against the first team defense. The starters played the whole game, both offensively and defensively.

When are they going to hire an AD? From what I hear, it is going to be Paul Blankenship, which is probalbly by far the best decision Jackson could make. Extremely good person with good people skillls. If and when it is Coach Blankenship, I expect more positives from within the athletic department.
