Re: Jackson Ironmen 2020
Oakhill would be a much better fit for the TVC Ohio. Good facilities and a DV school.

Re: Football Officials
There is a problem getting new officials, nobody wants to do it anymore. I really don't blame them. Maybe some of the people complaining should become officials. The sport needs more.

Re: WK 2: Nelsonville-York (0-1) @ Fort Frye (1-0)
Avatar C Bolt the shotgun Wing T gives the ability to use several formations which prevent the defense from loading the box. Deception is still there in the form of options, the QB has the ability to read the defense. It is never ran as an exclusive offense but paired with the under center offense. ...

Re: Notre Dame (1-6) @ Northwest (0-7)
Have seen both teams play and I will have to go with ND. If Northwest doesnt fix their punt game it could be a factor. I go with ND because I like the Wing T even if it's out of the darn Pistol. ND seems to have a little bit more going on with their offense. Both teams appear to have very young kids...

Re: IMAGINATION: DEFENSE ?
I should have made myself clearer. Lot of teams in the past relied in cover 3 and they stayed in it. Sometimes the safety was so deep and inactive you couldn't find him. Now kids may have to learn several coverages. Most defenses facing Spread teams play some type of 4 spoke or 4 deep whether quart...

Re: IMAGINATION: DEFENSE ?
When teams primarily stayed in tight formations ran the ball more than passed and didnt spread the field you could find 11hardnosed kids that might not have been the most athletic but you could teach good tackling skills, pursuit , and swarming to the ball and have a decent defense. Unless you are s...

Re: Monday Night Football: Federal Hocking (0-4) vs Wahama (0-4)
Really would not want to see their program end. The junior high team should really be a priority. Now saying that is easy accomplishing it is something else. The coach has only been there a year and he does have a lot of experience hopefully he will be able to save and turn things around.

Re: WK 6: Wheelersburg (4-1) @ Oak Hill (4-1)
The year Oakhill beat Burg they had that once in a lifetime team never had the talent like that before and chances are they will not have it again. A defensive lineman went on to have major playing time at Kent the quarterback played in the GLAC and three kids were recruited by Ashland. The team wen...

Re: Western Brown 42 Jackson 36
As far as the Jackson defense not seeing much in the way of passing in practice because their own team is run oriented is not the way things work. All football teams prepare each week for what they see. The Jackson defense sees reps of the opposing teams best plays in that weeks preparations. It's d...

Would be a shame if they dropped football. Not having a junior high team really hurts their program.

Re: WK 4: Fort Frye (3-0) @ Federal Hocking (0-3)
If that's true the Lancers only have 25 kids and at least 9 or 10 are freshmen. Losing 5 starters means you will be playing the equivalent of a JV team JV Backup. Hopefully Fort Fry's coaching staff realizes that and doesn't intentionally do anything to embarrass those kids

If NY spreads them out and does not allow them to get in a 5-3 packed in look and that NY quarterback can get loose it will make things interesting

Watch the trick play early by the Devils. Penrod likes to put eligible receivers at tackle and hide them by formation and use motion to get safeties to move

The small towns in northwest Ohio are not like the ones in southeast Ohio. Maria Stein has about 3 percent free or assisted lunch for students, Southeastern Ohio close to 90 percent in some of our schools. Household median income thousands of dollars more as well as property values.. Unemployment ra...

The Spartans were a football school when you go back far enough. They were even 9-1 during one season. The Snipes era produced some fine teams and the Boston era teams were no slouches. Arno had some good seasons. Down cycle right now. I also agree soccer cuts into your skill kids at a school that s...

Oaks looked good both sides of the ball last night. They have a hardnosed running attack and passed just enough to keep Peak off their backs. Congrats to the kids and staff.

Re: WEEK 4: Wellston (2-1) vs. Portsmouth West (1-2)
Yes exactly the Qb exchange we put a man over the center and fired him into the center or through the gap. We just spent the entire week working on it during defensive period or we must have wasted a hell of a lot of practice time working on it. That's why Jackson has a new center now

Re: WEEK 4: Wellston (2-1) vs. Portsmouth West (1-2)
Wellston was in the red zone twice against Jackson having moved the ball on decent drives and didn't score as well as in two other occasions separate from that in which two screen passes had the Jackson defense out if position and if not for a blown assignment not blocking one kid would have resulte...
